"Scariest" places to play

To be fair, if the list is really "scariest" places to play, the Orange Bowl would have to be near the top. If a Miami fan doesn't stick a shiv in your kidney, you still have to worry about the foot long giant, rabbid rats with gnashing fangs and pointy teeth.
I agree, if it really is the scariest place to play, this would have to be closer to the top. There were some games in the 80s my family went to where they said Miami fans were doing worse things than spitting on opposing teams.

Anyone watch the Southern Miss - Rice game tonight. The stands were more than two-thirds empty when the ass-hat ESPN announcers say, "and then Rice had to come here, one of the toughest places to play in college football."

Even my South African wife was laughing at that one. :slappy:

Strange list. They couple noise/verbal abuse with teams that are just plain good much of the time.

The OB. Yeah, it's capable of being a loud environment, but mostly it's not because of poor attendance. But yeah, in the right situation, it's difficult. But that situation relies on Miami being a powerhouse.

USC. Yeah, it's tough to play there because USC is damn good, but not because of venue. The only thing scary in there is the team.

It's real loud at Autzen. Seems like that is a nasty place to play a game.

It's unbelievable at LSU. Not just during the game. Those guys are crazy...if you are wearing the wrong colors and you go into a port-a-potty, it's isn't unlikely that the port-a-potty will turn over. It's horrible for the opposing team, fans, etc. I think everybody remembers what happened when Corso picked against LSU a few years back. Gameday installed a protective net after that game....sheesh. I've been there, it's nasty.

Va Tech is noisy, I have to say.

PSU, while I think their stadium is an erector set, those fans do get noisy. While our fans sit on their hands a bit too much, PSU fans are rabid. I dislike them immensely, but they are "into" the game more.

Wiscy...how could they not be on the list? That place is crazy. I've enjoyed a game there. Definite home field advantage.

These lists are always put out there to inspire discussion and they are obviously meant for fun, I just find the ways in which he determined "scary" to be strange.
