S Malik Hooker (All B1G, All-American, Dallas Cowboys)

Does that reference the coming back question or The Game pick-6 question?

It is actually surprising to me that no Buckeye has made more than two pick-6's in a single season previously. Even more surprising to note that only one Buckeye has had a season with multiple pick-6's. And stunning that two pick-6's is the career record.

What is the B1G and the NCAA record for these categories?

Wasn't able to double check this but wiki says it's 5.

FBS: 5 – Darrent Williams, Oklahoma State, 2001–04; Deltha O'Neal, California, 1996–99; Ken Thomas, San Jose State, 1979–82; Jackie Walker, Tennessee, 1969–71[75]

CBS 2017 NFL DRAFT

PLAYER OVERVIEW
Hooker saw action in all 13 games as a freshman in 2015, seeing time on 179 snaps and finishing with 10 tackles.

Hooker played only two seasons at New Castle high school in Pennsylvania, but starred at wide receiver and cornerback while also being recruited as a Division I prospect in basketball. His first action on the football field was in 2012, and he developed into a four-star prospect by Scout and ESPN.

STRENGTHS WEAKNESSES

STRENGTHS: A big play waiting to happen with his range and toughness.

WEAKNESSES: Spacing in coverage can be an issue. Far from a finished product from a mental standpoint.

I have no idea what his personal and/or family's financial situation is; however, I'll say if he stays that is a very good decision on his part. Unlike the NBA that will draft on potential, the NFL drafts on what you are now. I don't believe he has come close to topping out on his potential ass a college player. Staying one more year could literally make him millions (i.e. much higher draft pick).

Note: ESPN does not vote on the Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year. This is just their opinion on who should win the award:

Brian Bennett: I wonder if Jabrill Peppers might actually win this prize, based in part on name recognition.
And who, exactly, was responsible for giving Peppers all that name recognition? Is ESPN regretting their own hype machine?

many mock drafts have malik a top 10 pick. pretty much everyone has him in the top 15, which is at least $30m over 3 years. all credit goes to players who return with such a high evaluaton, but i think it's a bit foolish (i mean that in the kindest way) to risk generational money. if malik hears from respectable nfl scouts that he's certainly a high pick, i hope he has trustworthy consultants advising him to go. one of meyer's primary recruiting pitches is churning out nfl millionaires. it may be counter-intuitive, but, in my opinion, even he should be advising a sound financial decision.

Remember that story about his mother and her tough love?

99% sure that a mother like that suggests he returns for his education.

100% sure he listens.
Just because his mom is tough, doesn't mean that she's dumb. I always laugh at fans who think that the best interest of players is to come back to make sure their team gets more wins. Not taking into account the low shelf life for football players and the risk of injury at the collegiate level. Get your money and school will still be there. Many tough moms saw to it that their kids skipped school for the professional ranks(Shaquille O'Neal, Carmelo Anthony, Marshawn Lynch, Lebron James, Allen Iverson, Michael Vick, etc) and all did quite well for themselves. Heck, even the guys that I can't name, if they made it to the professional ranks did a lot to help their families, and could still go back and get their degrees. Curtis Samuel has a very tough mother yet I see no one thinking he's coming back... Like @MililaniBuckeye said, the operative words are "right now". He deserves to get his shot in the NFL
