S/LB Tyler Moeller (official thread)

"and Kerr by true freshman Tyler Moeller. Ross Homan, who was considered to be challenger for a starting position, has been out a week with a hamstring problem. Fickell described Moeller as "someone you notice, someone that when the ball get to the line of scrimmage, he's always there."

Who is this Moeller kid and can he tackle? :wink2:

LOL

From all reports, Tyler is having a good summer in Columbus. Bobby Boucher is living up to the hype. :)
Makes me wonder what other "undersized" LBs are in the B10. Instincts will get you a LONG way. In Tyler's case, it will get him right in front of Pitt or Wells so he can get mashed...but as long as the back goes down, I don't suppose it matters.

I saw Tyler in the Texas game last year and thought he was the MVP in the game. He did play like the water boy. Was all over the field making tackles. Maybe he does not have the size of the other frosh LBs, but plays with a lot of heart. Texas had a hard time keeping him out of their backfield.

"Now when you talk about the defense as a whole, the young guy who has stood out to me more than anybody is Tyler Moeller," (Anthony) Gonzalez said.

"Every time I look up he's hitting somebody, and he's hitting them a lot harder than a guy his size should be hitting them. He's the type of kid that you have a feeling that if you threw him on the field he would find a way to make ten tackles a game or something like that. He's always around the ball, he's very physical and a very tough kid. I really like him. He's quiet and he's nice, it's all good stuff."
