This is insanity. You just got embarrassed on your home field by a Group of Five team that didn't win a single game last season and you're going ahead with the postgame fireworks?

Rutgers needed somebody from the econ department in the press box to explain to whoever was in charge of the pyro what a sunk cost is. You've already paid for the fireworks whether they get shot off or not. The only difference is now you've further humiliated yourselves.

What an embarrassment of an athletic department. Even Vanderbilt has found a modicum of success in the NIL/transfer portal era, but Rutgers is still just as Rutgers-y as it's ever been. Disband the football program and put that money to good use educating young minds.

I checked the reddit post game thread after hearing about the upset, and I was intrigued about the level of optimism from the few forsaken UMass fans out there. So I watched the Fox 22 minute extended highlights on utube, and that team looked good. The UMass offense had no business looking that innovative and crisp in week one. Just saw their second year HC was previously the DC at Rutgers, and the UMass defense did their part in the ass kicking. Sucks for Schiano, but sportsball is back and it's spectacular.
