Good game by TCU - just wonder what Gordon Gee is saying now.

He's saying, "We're still the big ten, and they're a bunch of shinebox toting community colleges that have to give tickets away at the local piggly wiggly in order to get 20,000 asses into a 30,000 seat stadium. F#ck 'em all."

That's what he's saying.

Well today sucked.

I want the old days back, when everything was about having a winning season, beating your rival, and going to a bowl game and winning.

I hate the "x conference is better than you" and "your conference sucks so you must also" mentality. I hate that a team's entire legacy rests on 1 game out of the year to prove that it matters to the world of talking heads and "fandom". Whatever.

Until it starts to really adversely affect tOSU's ability to win games and get to a bowl game, I am not really going to worry about it all that much. But it wouldnt surprise me if in the future tOSU gets shafted in the rankings and bowl games from conference perception.

If I say I hate [Mark May], will it come out right?

Not sure I'll ever understand your POV. You despise Notre Dame yet seem to have no ill will towards scUM and you're depressed over losses by other conference members.

I'm depressed by Buckeye losses that's it. I rooted for the Big-10 in bowls, except scUM, but I don't give a shit about how horrible they were if we win on Tuesday.

And I don't understand yours.

You want to be the best team in the best conference. Every Big 10 win adds to the credit of the conference. Wins in bowl games mean higher preseason rankings, which often result in higher end-of-season rankings for all conference teams.

SEC fans understand that. Big 10 fans don't. (Tlangs: "This is while I love the Big Ten. As Florida fans are chanting SEC, SEC, SEC....I'm cracking up screaming [censored] you penn state...and makin Pat McGroin refrences. I'm glad those fucks lost. I hope their fans accidentally throw a piss bag on themselves next year."

As for Notre Dame, they're the media darlings and if given a boost -- like Miami mailing in a game and beating Army to have a winning record -- they'll be placed ahead of many teams better than them at any point in time.

Or he's saying that TCU wouldn't even have been in this game hed they joined the Big East last year.

In 1999, Marshall went 13-0, beat BYU in a bowl game 21-3, and on the season outscored its opponents 463 to 137 ... they finished 10th in the final AP poll, behind three 1-loss teams, three 2-loss teams, and two 3-loss teams. This year, an undefeated TCU will finish 2nd or 3rd in the final polls. Big difference in media perception in such a short amount of time. And if you recall, both TCU and BSU played in a BCS bowl last season (the Fiesta Bowl).

I was only addressing the "hasn't hurt" comment, in that it could be taken as meaning it played "no factor". I totally agree with you that it plays far less of a factor than it used to play.

I know this is where I am supposed to say that I am sorry that Wisconsin lost for the sake of the Big Ten and all that. With that said, I found myself smiling as that game ended because those cocky bastards got what they deserved this year. I like seeing Brett Bieliema being embarrassed on a national stage. I hate Wisconsin.

The reason the Rose Bowl is what it is...is because of the prestige and relevance of the Pac Ten and B10 teams throughout the history of the game. I'm not pissed TCU won, as much as I'm pissed some fuckin' mid major that did nothing to help build the grandaddy even had a chance to play in the fuckin' game.

I'll sleep well too, but in the world of polls and bowls conference perception influences voters whether we like it or not. The Big Ten looked like a mid major today, and it will be in the minds of voters going forward.

amen....there is no cockier bastard in the BigTen than BB

I had the chance to sit across the aisle on a recent flight from Madison to Detroit. Just observing the guy....he is a total jerk. Frankly, he reminds me of a young Earle Bruce....not likeable at all.

This x 40 trillion.

If Michigan is #1, 2, and 3 on the [Mark May]list, then Wisconsin is 4a and Iowa is 4b.

Bulemia needed an offensive coordinator like JT was, when asked, "uh do we know any other plays than that one?" answer "yes sir and when they stop this one, we'll try a different one" dumb, dumb, dumb to pass so much and run the stretch so much when UW was gashing them up the gut. That said, I'll sleep well and while I rooted for the conference today, I shed no tears watching scUM get rolled and Bucky [mark may] the bed
