you assume the big ten team would want any part of that. I don't think it's any accident that your league ends its season much earlier than anyone else
Oh for Christ's sake, "you can't play football when it's cold out or it might snow..."
It's not about the weather, it's about money making for tourist industries, it's about the tradition that December games have to be played in the sunbelt.
BULL SHIT!
Tthis past week there were bowl games played in half empty stadiums in sunbelt cities when the games involved 6 win teams. You don't need a full house to have a bowl game.
Further, the NFL has played football in December and January, to packed houses, in cities throughout the west, midwest and east. Guess what? You can play football in cold and snow just as you can in rain and fog.
What might happen is that USC might have to win an NC in some town other than LA, someplace east of Denver and north of the Ohio River, something they've only managed once in their long and storied history.
And don't hand me any horseshit about, "each school got the same amount of tickets." It's not parity and you know it. 30 to 40K tickets to the two schools and the rest go to local businesses and individuals.
It's all about equity, sauce for the goose and the gander. If you're going to use the bowls to establish end of the year rankings, start of the next year rankings, conference comparisons and the NC, then dammit, spread the games out. Give every region their shot at an NC game.
