The same thing could be said for every game OSU played last year. Lose any one of them and no NC game.bigballin2987;1035983; said:Last year it determined one of the spots in the BCS Championship Game. That might be an important game.

bigballin2987;1035995; said:No, because Ohio State and Michigan were #1 and #2 respectively, and the winner played in the MNC game.
I think it is hilarious how one game last year, and our schedule this year is now indicative of the Big 10 and it's tendencies for the past 100+ years.NFBuck;1036003; said:Important football isn't played north of the Mason-Dixon line. Will you never learn?
More evidence that The Game is the greatest rivalry in college.sluTiger;1035977; said:you guys are a bit touchy about that game.
Seriously, good tradition, great history, just a bit overrated for its importance in recent years...

Because OSU has owned Michigan? Never mind that the winner of The Game wins the Big Ten, and 3 out of the last 6 years has gone on to play for a Title (and never mind the 2003 game had title implications as well (If OSU had won))
My point is this... there is some great SEC football. The thing I notice about Big Ten fans, in general, is that we recognize other great football being played at the College level every Saturday. I literally watch 4 TVs of football every Sat. from noon til midnight. Though, I'm probably not the "average" Anyway, the point is, we get and accept that there are great teams and great games played outside of Big Ten Country.
SEC fans, by and large, just don't understand anything but SEC football. You have little respect for quality ball played elsewhere. Frankly, it's you folks that are missing out. SEC Football is great. Not the issue. There is plenty of OTHER great football. That's the point. And it's what a shitload of SEC folks don't get.
I'll say as fanbases go - internet wise - I've been pretty impressed with the LSU contingent. But, conference wise, your conferences fans are the biggest .... arrogant nitwits there are. If that's the reputation you, as a conference fan wants, well... you got it. To the rest of the nation, you're pretty much a laughing stock. Despite the fact that we still watch your football. Again, great teams and great games. Idiot fans.
And, to be clear, again... LSU fans here have by and large been the exception to what I've noticed to be the rule. Surely not ALL SEC Fans are idiots. Just the bulk.
Let me see if I have this straight. I read on the posts here that you have the best coach, the best band, the best fan base, the best rivalry, you are smarter, you watch more TV games, you have more teeth, etc. and you have the gall to call SEC fans "Arrogant nitwits" Just how many NC has your conference won in the last 25 years or so? I try to be polite on other teams boards, but you are condeming people that you don't know. Have you ever been to a game at an SEC school or are you basing your opinion on message boards. I have been to OSU a couple of times and had a good time, I met some good people and met a couple of jackasses, same as at any other school I have been to. With the exception of some of your "Fans" mugging our mascot and stealing his tiger suit, all went well. Did it ever occur to you that the reason we have so much Conference pride is because we have so many good teams in it.Buckeyeskickbuttocks;1036017; said:More evidence that The Game is the greatest rivalry in college.

Was that the same bunch that reported Miles to Michigan? :-)LightningRod;1036057; said:Do you think ESPN had a reason to name the OSU-Michigan rivalry the greatest rivalry in all of sports in the 20th Century?
