Rivalries and Conferences (Split from LSU v. OSU Offensive Personnel Thread)

Nope. JT choked Big-Time last January, but UF was a very good team.

He beat georgia Tech? Whoopee! UGA wasn't particularly good in 2005 either.

As for DickRod, how 'bout losing to a much less talented USF team in '06? Losing to Louisville in '06? USF was decent this year, but he still should have won that.

JT, doesn't lose to less talented teams often. Illinois being a possible exception this year.

Do you really think Illinois had less talent? Juice looked like he ran your defense all over the field. I am not sure you can say that Illinois had significant drop off in talent. Honest, why did Wells get only 20 touches in that game?

You made yet another mind-boggling statement suggesting RRod teams do not have a history of choking at any level. When you were called on this nonsense, you tried to pull the 'one game outlier' card (even though there were TWO big choke jobs in ONE year) and shift focus to Tressel.

A few memorable choke jobs from RRod: Pitt 07, USF 07, USF 06, Louis 06 (somewhat), BC 04, Pitt 04, FSU 04 (all in a row. 05 is the exception to the rule in that 4 year span.

Thanks for looking them all up, I didn't want to waste the time on the guy and didn't have them committed to memory. He actually said DickRod has never choked at any level...I guess they didn't get the Backyard Brawl down on the Bayou this year.:slappy:

I don't think so, I know so. Juice Williams took advantage of the scheme we were running (which was stop their RB Mendenhall, so we didn't have a "spy" on Williams). But back to talent level. Just because Illinois upset us doesn't mean they had superior talent. Do you really think that Kentucky and Arkansas has talent superior to LSU's?

I want to know who the genius was who renamed the Run & Shoot as the "spread" so he could fool an entire generation of mouth breathers that it is "new" and "innovative".

The damn offense was invented by Middletown's high school coach in the 50's.

That's Middletown Ohio btw kids (home of NFL Hall of Fame member Cris Carter).

Excellent point. You can't compete with SEC renaming. :wink2:

Michigan not relevant anymore eh? Not worthy of playing OSU? They could have said the same about us in the '90's... The top ten programs in winning % since 1997:

1. OSU
2. Texas
2. Boise State*
4. Georgia
5. Michigan
6. VT
7. Florida
8. Florida State
9. Tennessee
10. Oklahoma
*includes 2007-2008 bowl game

Scum has a better win % over all the SEC execept one!

Since 2002:

1. USC
2. Boise State*
3. OSU
4. Texas
5. Georgia
5. LSU
7. Oklahoma
8. Auburn
9. WVU
10. VT
11. TCU
12. Scum
*includes 2007-2008 Bowl Games

They dropped a bit but still have a better winning % than nine of the other SEC schools including Tennessee and Florida.....

That's because the mighty SEC is so balanced from top to bottom that even the elite teams have it tough every week... :roll1:

Yes, 6 different champions in ten years. I can't think of any conference with that kind of balance.

Big Ten champs over the last ten seasons (alphabetical order, number of titles in parenthesis):

Illinois (1)
Iowa (2)
Michigan (4)
Northwestern (1)
Ohio State (5)
Penn State (1)
Purdue (1)
Wisconsin (2)

:slappy: Mili, have you read this thread? I previously posted that every conference has at least 5 and as many as 9 champions in 10 years. After a moving goal post, I found that the least was 4 and most was ... 7 I think. Every Conf. has about 5 or 6 in 10 years.
