Rich Rodriguez (official thread of last laughs)

The unrelated events version would have TP sticking with the Buckeyes on NLOID. Seperately, Mallett declares he is going to pastures anew - say because he finds that he is uncomfortable in a bastardized version of the RR offense, square peg in a round hole.

This would precipitate RR looking for an emergency solution at QB and TSUN suffers one checkered season.

I don't see that one as being all that far fetched. It might not happen that way but its certainly plausible. Who knows how deep the rift with his teammates and new staff really is for Mallet? Hell he might have left if Carr had stayed, who knows?

Definately a guy that will be easy to hate. One thing scUM has prided itself on was the class and humility of Lllllloyd Carr, now they have this asshat on their hands.

but the big question is are we going to get those quailty halftime interview tidbits like Lllllloyd gave us.

probably not, but i'm sure there are going to be an awful lot of tearful scUM post-game pressers.

we'll have to get the powers-that-be to add a couple of new smilies, like:

Agreed. For all his curmudgeonly charm, Lloyd was a decent human being. I could never bring myself to loathe him on anything approaching a personal basis. Rodriguez has amply proven himself worthy of personal scorn, ridicule and demonization.

Well so far, he's definately showing that he will do "anything to win." Removing the Michigan staff, some of which are alumni, working Terrell Pryor to bring him over, and taking some of the staff from his former school. So yeah, he's going to be a real easy guy to hate, and it seems like it's not a way I ever envisioned Michigan going, even if he's not a "Michigan man" I didn't expect them to have no "Michigan men" on their football coaching staff...

Yep. I know and understand that they wanted to start fresh, but to completely whipe the slate clean leaving no ties is astounding. Brilliant or foolhardy arrogance, I guess time will tell. I can't see the rationale to not keep some connections with the traditions. Lloeffler is the name that suprised me the most. He was seemingly well-liked by everyone and appeared to have a bright future with the program.
