I am still in. This game proved with a decent or average defense we can probably beat anyone. Illinois had a very good defense and we had almost 700 yards on them and 45 points in regulation....(I know it was probably 600 in regulation)....oh, we also had 5 turnovers, Lewan's penalties leaving points on the field, and a missed FG.....if we can clean up a few areas that we are simply just incredibly thin at, then this team can rise to greatness in the years to come. We just need to rework the defensive staff and recruit, recruit, recruit....sorry GERG.

The Illini defense truly sucked. Rich Rod did what he hasn't in a while. Win a big ten game that he was supposed to lose against a quality big ten team. Demens is quickly becoming are guy. The true freshmen secondary proved to be no worse than any other secondary we have seen all season. If anything they tackle a little better but do blow some coverages. Overall I'm darn happy. This goes a long way to overcome the hopelessness I felt after losing last week. Not saying we beat OSU but wouldn't be suprised if we hang 50 on them. The momentum from this win may help us win one or two more before the end of the season. I think we could either win or lose any of the remaining.

Just happy to see their fans know they suck and be cool with it. I don't know about you guys, but if we were in their situation, coach who was a total douche, constantly getting unwanted attention from the NCAA, the recuits they have, the records they have, the losses to pretty much every rival except pathetic Notre Dame... well, let's just say that I would be getting banned here pretty quickly.

So glad we have J.T.

I am still not convinced that Shoelaces will be playing in THE GAME. I think he will have a season ending injury before then and Ohio State will be facing Tater Tot. If that happens, I don't see Michigan hanging 14 on Ohio State.

Maybe, I think he's tended to be a bit more aggressive when the game is at the Shoe then he has been up in AA. Being overly conservative is the (no offense) only way to get in trouble against this team (Besides turnovers obv). Even Illinois had times when they were getting a bit conservative despite the 65 points.

I certainly hope they stay at the top of their game for this one. Hearing the shenanigans of Block-O after certain games is one of the more entertaining things I look forward to.

WM--wanted to hear more of your opinion (or, since you're a Wolverines fan, maybe I should call it "your IMO") about that 40 point lead.

I'm thinking that against the Michigan defense, calling 75 off-tackle runs should be enough to score at least 60 points and give at least a 40 point lead. Why does the playbook need to open up for Ohio State?

What am I missing? Is the Michigan defense going to unveil a surprise 4-3 for this game? Are the walk-on corners going to be replaced by Charles Woodson? :)

if he calls 75 off tackle reads, there simply won't be enough time in the game to get a 40 point lead. Hence the chant needs to be started around the 20 point lead time.

i'm not going to make any bold predictions until I see what UM does vs Wisconsin. Right now I don't give us much of a chance in The Game, but I also don't think we'll lose by 20+ points, either. Just my IMO :wink:

Is there a maximum number of points a team can score in a game? Maybe 255? After that, I think the next point scrolls you over to -256. (I guess it depends on how many binary digits you get.)

I bet that if Michigan ever gets a decent defense, they can lose a game -1 to 0.

Naw, we aren't playing Cumberland College although we could give the 222 the yellow jackets scored against them a run for it's money...:biggrin:
