i think we can all say that more than one game has had a break that helped decide a close game in the rivalry. in the rich rod era, not so much...

While that may be true, there haven't been many "gifts" like Michigan got in their '97 win. Funny how many Michigan fans think their '97 team was all that and a bag of peanuts. Check out BringBackMaize's post (seventh on first page) in the Top 5 Big 10 teams since Penn State entered the Big 10 thread on GoBlowWolverine.com:

1. '97 Michigan (really not even close)
2. '94 Penn St
3. '99 Michigan
4. '02 Ohio St
5. '06 Ohio St

"Really not even close"? The '94 PSU team would've ape-fucked the '97 scUM team...

what a joke. That '97 scUM team was pre-BCS and in order to win 1/2 MNC they had to hold off a 10th ranked WSU team in rose bowl.

BCS aint a good system, but at least the champ has to face-off with a truly elite team to claim the crown.

i think '98 OSU team should be up there as well. I don't even remember '99 scUM team?

they went 10-2, lost to 10-2 Michigan State and 8-4 Illinois, obviously not the third best team in the Big Ten in the last twenty years based on that information alone, the guy who made that list is clearly a biased jackass so it's not really worth taking seriously

another Michigan fan on that board claimed that '95, '96, and '98 Ohio State teams were all better than '99 Michigan, so like I said, the guy who made that list is a biased jackass

From the Big Ten Media Days in Chicago.

Ozone

Michigan's Rich Rodriguez: Rich made it through the day without saying too much that could damage him, save in our opinion for one little comment about the pressure of coaching in Ann Arbor. According to Rodriguez, coaching for Michigan in Ann Arbor doesn't involve any more pressure than coaching for West Virginia. Not sure if the Wolverine faithful are going to appreciate that from Rodriguez.

From the guy who literally cried like a little bitch after the pressure of the WVU/Pitt game got to him.

I'm seriously starting to wonder if this clown isn't in over his plugged little head worse than Heavy Weisen.
