Aschebrook developing career during ongoing lawsuit
By Mike Casazza
Daily Mail sportswriter
MORGANTOWN - Larry Aschebrook began his new job at Arizona State Monday and while he's trying to rediscover the low profile he once enjoyed as a fundraiser at West Virginia University, he hasn't closed the book on his past.
"Larry is moving on in his career and he's more interested in developing his new position at Arizona State," said Aschebrook's lawyer, Wheeling's R. Dean Hartley, "but he's still concerned by the recent events."
That concern includes the damage done to his reputation by what happened last week, as well as possible legal recourse.

[/SIZE] Depositions continue Wednesday. Rich Rodriguez went looking for a job at the University of Michigan, according to recent documents filed in the case.
Attorneys for West Virginia University have obtained new documents that show Rodriguez' representatives contacted Michigan on Dec. 11 to gauge their interest in him as their new head football coach.
Three days later, Michigan officials met with the former coach in Ohio to start hammering out a deal.
During his deposition on Monday, Rodriguez also testified that his original buyout clause in Michigan was set at $2 million. Rodriguez requested that the buyout be raised to $4 million, the documents said.
Depositions continue Wednesday in the case between WVU and Rodriguez over payment of his $4 million buyout with the Mountaineers.

I'd really be interested in knowing what occurred in those 10 days that led to RR wanting to get out of dodge.

You know....I wouldn't put it past him to think that the buyout meant he got the $2million, so he wanted to raise it to $4.The WV attorneys had so much fun on Monday deposing RR that they decided to continue the party today.

Why would RR request his buyout be raised to $4 million? His testimony on Monday also contradicts his agent's assertions reported in the Pittsburgh paper [ LINK ]that RR did not contact UM officials when he traveled to Toledo. RR's attorneys consistently stated that they could not wait for depositions to start so the public could know the truth. LOL!!! It's a good thing the judge did not impose a gag order on the parties.
