When asked about the changes under Coach Stewart he said there would be much less cursing and he was looking forward to actually being coached instead of being humiliated everyday at practice.

Ouch.

paraphrasing ...

"Practice is better. It's intense, but we have fun. ... there's a lot less cussing ... and you don't feel bad about yourself if you make a mistake. You get coached"

Ouch indeed.

Pat White obviously is too fat and slow to succeed in a Rodriguez-coached offense.

Obviously.

Wow. I just hope none of the other Big Ten coaches hear about this. It would be very unfortunate if some of RRs recruits heard that his star player felt this way.

Might this have any impact on how folks view the Justin Boren situation? Ya think?

Ouch.

If he didn't like that, why did he choose WVU? He had to have known how Rodriguez coached before signing up. I really don't know, though.

Anyways, I hate that style.. I think there are much, much better ways to teach kids how to play football and be good people. Although, it would be the definition of irony if Rodriguez was trying to teach morals. Keep running him through the mud, Pat. It's amusing.

[JoePa] Things like this don't have any effect on recruiting. [/JoePa]

Of all the shit that has rained down on RR - and a lot of shit has rained down on RR - this has the potential to do the most damage.

When is the last time a coaches former #1 guy trashed him in this way? Not just trashed him, but trashed him in a way that is relevant and that echoes what one of his premier players at his new job has already stated.

This is why Boren walked. Not because he was fat. Not because he was lazy. Not because he had an "agenda".

Kids will still go to UM because it is UM. Lots of em will.

But some wont. And every kid you don't get is a kid you don't get.

Once we get the exact transcript (might already be out on the WVU boards) I say we all make our signature line read "you don't feel bad about yourself - you get coached".

HTM - the next post you send out better say "I give up" - or don't send it.

And straight from the WVU boards:

pat white: you dont feel embarrased to make a mistake; lots of less swear words; when you make a mistake, you get teaching instead of yelled at

morty ivy: coach stew lets his assistants coach; he makes sure practice is going smoothly but lets the coaches coach
