Religion in public schools

Dr. Suess has been writing the same kind of [censored] for a long time.

my kid is 3 and bored of John and Jill rding bikes... sorry, but its true.

Look, not saying who is right here, but, you have more responsibility than the teacher, they are going to believe Dad more.

So do you read your kid books on global warming and over-fishing since he or she is sick of books about riding bikes? My daughter still likes books about kid stuff.

I take full responsibility for my daughter, but I can't control what books are mandatory reading by her teacher. These aren't books she is randomly checking out from the library for the fun of it.

No, I read her books about fishing and burning fossil fuels and cutting down trees, what the fuck do you think?

She asked for a chainsaw for christmas when she was 2... no shit.

Be a fucking role model man.

This question has a different twist on it because of something I encountered this morning when dropping off my daughter at school.

Last year, this little 1st grader in Emily's class spent music class in the library because due to her religion, she wasn't allowed to attend this class. I received this with skepticism, because ever religion that I know of has chants and songs and music in some way, shape or form.

Flash forward to this morning. This same little girls comes running up to me and says, I [censored] you not "Mr. (scooter), Mr. (scooter)!! Have you seen Ninja Assassin yet?"

If you haven't seen or heard about this movie, it is gory and has a body count of about 200 people. It is rated, quite correctly, at R for violence and language.

So how does one go from "do not want her mind poisoned with American music class" to "watch R rated kill fests"? And what religion would see nothing wrong with this?
I'd be fascinated to know where this little girl's family worships. Then I'd stay far, far away.

This really has little to do with "religion in public schools." More to do with "oddball whackjobs in public schools." I'd check for bomb-making equipment in this chickie's locker if I were you.

Disney is making films about Global Warming, so lets not take our kids to see any Disney films as they're all just programming! Let's take our kids to see war movies and violent movies as they are pure and good!

Our culture is getting flushed down the toilet. A kid can't listen to American songs, but can watch American R rated movies? Her parents are a joke.

I have a daughter in first grade and if I had an additional $10K/year I would send her to private school. The public school she attends sends home very liberal books for her to read and it annoys me.

Liberal books in first grade? Make Room for Ducklings has a liberal agenda? Where the Wild Things Are is a slam on Rush? Mike's Steam Shovel and the Little Train that Could are tranies? I can see the Madeline series, I mean they're French to begin with and then all those girls sleeping in beds and tended to by nuns, that's tres kinky...
