Reds Tidbits (2012 Season)

lol, only Stubbs could do as bad as he is in arguably one of the best hitting spots in all of baseball (hitting in front of Votto) 0 for his last 27 I believe

And the announcers earlier in the game expressed bewilderment at the fact that Votto has 0 RBI on the road trip.

I'm not sure that Stubbs even has any trade value left at this point. They've exposed the hell out of him. He's not useful at all. The only option left will be to DFA him, which means the Reds will hold on to him and continue to trot him out there because they don't understand sunk costs.

I remember the howls of derision I encountered from the RZ crew when I suggested trading him this past off season while he still had value for Martin Prado from Atlanta.

:shake:

WTF do I know, right?

I'm ok with 3B for the moment. Frazier is doing a pretty good job for a rookie. LF and CF are awful and the lineup needs a shakeup. Of course it all leads back to the dumbass making out the lineup card everyday. Sit some of these jerkoffs for playing piss poor baseball and light a fire under their asses. If that doesnt work I guess we're fucked because there is no one else ready to come up and play.

Better force feed Hamilton up to AAA I guess. Everyone else is garbage. :(

The only problem is that Walts constructed the roster in such a way that Stubbs/Luheisey, no matter how godawful, are significantly better than anyone on the bench or, as you pointed out, anyone near ready to be called up.

We are truly fucked in the outfield.

I knew tuning into this game would be a mistake. Phillips again making a huge base running mistake. Valdez took off too, but he did it because no one was anywhere near 3rd base and they would not have gotten him. Phillips on the other hand starts running to second once Valdez takes off. How stupid. 3-2 count and 2 outs, no need to get a good jump.

Somebody, more motivated than I am, should go back and look at how many times the Reds have had the opportunity to hit a sacrifice fly and have failed to do so. It's absolutely killing me that they cannot hit a flyball to score a runner. It's getting to the point where I would almost be more satisfied with a sac fly than an actual hit to score the runner.
