The Twins would take him. Mauer is pretty much a part timer behind the plate now (less than 1/2 the games). Doumit is a free agent at the end of the year. Morneau won't be there much longer, and 1B is probably where Mauer ends up. The Twins definitely would have been interested in Grandal.

Merely playing .500 ball from here out and they're at 91 or 92 wins.

If Atlanta continues their pace, they'll hit 91; Pittsburgh 93; Dodgers 87. WBs would have to play damn near .620 ball to hit 92.
