Reds tidbits (2010 season)

I can't say it this way over at RZ but while everyone else in baseball is trying to bang the prom queen The Reds should sneak off and have a threesome with the slightly less hot but infinitely more slutty chicks in the form of Arizona. Send whatever package of prospects it takes for Haren and Drew.

Two areas of need fixed in one swoop and they are under control for a while, not 3 month rentals. Maybe get creative and take Snyder and a flyer on Webb while you are at it.

Per Jim Day:

Phillips 4, Cabrera 6, Votto 3, Rolen 5, Bruce 9, Gomes 7, Stubbs 8, Miller 2, Pitcher TBA

Maloney is in the club house.

There is a Reds jersey with the #45 and the name Welsh on the back of it hanging in the clubhouse, so the possibility Chris Welsh could be tonights starter is out there. :p

anyone have any updates on the length of time Hernandez will miss and how close Hanigan is to coming back?
John Fay reported yesterday (after Corky Miller jacked up his hand on Soto's batting helmet in the Cubs game) that if Miller had to miss time Hanigan was ready to go. As long as Miller is healthy and playing well, they'd prefer to take their time, but Hanigan could play today if he HAD too. Hernandez could also PH and catch an inning or two, but would be sore.

Wilkin Castilo is not an option. If the Reds thought they'd need him, he'd be on the 25 man roster already.

Cincinnati Reds - Team Report - MLB - Yahoo! Sports

C Ramon Hernandez was out of lineup Monday after injuring his knee Sunday in Chicago. Corky Miller started for Hernandez.

"He's got swelling in there that he didn't have yesterday," manager Dusty Baker said Monday. "He's a little sore. Hopefully he'll be better tomorrow. He'll get treatment all day in case I've got to pinch-run or pinch-hit for Corky late in the game."

Baker said wasn't sure if Hernandez would be available. The emergency catcher would likely by shortstop Paul Janish.
