As much of an ass hat as I think Dusty is, no manager is in a very good spot when they look down the bench for a hitter and Miguel F Cairo is smiling back at them. I seriously think you have to consider leaving Leake in to hit there.

Good to see him pitch well because when I saw him out there for the 8th I wasn't real confident (nice way of saying I was cussing paint off the wall).

Also, I hope Pujols is ok to play tomorrow after his severe attack of vaginal irritation. Sometimes close calls are allowed to go against you dickhead.

They reached deep into their rather ample bag of ways to lose a game but came out with the win in spite of themselves. They almost let the shit bird, talentless Pujols caddies at the bottom of the Cards order beat them though, that would have been horrific.

They aren't good but they are only a 1/2 game behind the Cardinals and I hate the fucking cardinals so go Reds.*

Exact same thought ran through my mind last night when Masset came in to retire Ludwick, Pujols, and Holliday in order in the 8th.

You know you've got depth issues when you have two starting pitchers and a long reliever that are better situational batters than anyone on your bench.

Couple of observations.

1) Those of you quick to jump on Dusty for pinch hitting Ramon Hernandez instead of Laynce Nix in the opening game of the series, hopefully you're eating some crow since it turned out Nix had an injured back.

People on here are too quick to jump on a manager, especially this one.

2) In listening to part of yesterday's game on the radio. It seems like Marty Brenneman cannot stand Jeff Brantley and his idiotic comments and I don't blame him.

Brantley last night said that Stubbs triple was because the Cardinals pitchers don't have a book on Stubbs yet, and Marty says, "They got 7 games of at bats on him, how many do you need?"

3) Brantley's "DJ-type radio-announcing" voice is so gay and fake I want to jam a grenade into my car radio when listening. It's absolutely awful.

I like the fact they came right back and scored in the bottom of the 5th to answer the Cards run in the top of the inning.

Might we be seeing signs of emerging testicular fortitude amongst this group of geldings?
