I won't be around during the game, so my thoughts on the series for posterity:
-As has been documented well at Fangraphs and over at RZ, the pieces are there for the Reds to hang a lot tougher than people think they will.
-I see a series price of +250 for the Reds. That means if you think the Reds could win a 5 game series against the Phillies more than 28 times out of 100 then this price is a good value. I think its a great value because there isn't that big a difference between these two teams.
The Phils are rightfully favored but (all the shit we give them here aside) no team, in any division, in either league, in any year, wins 90+ games by accident. The Reds can hang with these guys and a series win actually won't shock me at all. We have all seen bigger upsets than this happen.
That said,
Dusty is a fucking moron, Bruce is still a mail room clerk and Phillips is a fucking hack.
No way they can win this.
Not going to happen.
No chance.
