Seriously, who the fuck are you trying to throw out. The only runner that matters was going to be a first base. Good lord, Bruce.
I believe he was trying to throw out the hot dog vendor on the concourse up the 3rd base line. Quickest way to get to the hot dog vendor is to throw it to Cordero.

as of right now it would be the braves I believe, important to get that 2 seed (that's if atl gets the wildcard)

we're a .5 game up on San Fran i think for the 2 seed

I'm pretty sure it goes like this;

If the Braves win the WC the Reds play Philly round 1.

If the NL West produces the WC the Reds play the NL West Champ in round 1.

Speaking of the Phillies ... Would you rather play them in a 5 game series or a 7 game series? I'm thinking a 5 game series with their rotation would give the Reds better odds.

Wait what?

So you'll want to face Oswalt, Hamels and Halladay in some order in games 1, 2 and 3?

Well, that's my point. It's the choice between facing Halladay & Hamels twice each, with Oswalt going once, or facing Halladay three times, and the other guys twice.

There is more opportunity for 'chance' to come into play in a short series, which is why I'm inclined to think, if you must play the Phillies, you might as well play them in a 5-game series instead of a 7. The Reds beat Halladay once at home in June, and Travis Wood had the perfect game opposite Halladay going into the 9th in July. The Reds have hit Oswalt very well this season. If they get some breaks and steal two of the first three ...

no, if the standings end now, we have braves, phillies get the 3 seed, 2 seed gets the WC, if we fall to 3 seed, then we'd get the phillies.

Another way to say it is the Phillies get the lowest seeded division champ if the Braves win the WC.

If the WC comes from the NL West then the Reds will play the NL West champ, the Phillies get the WC.

Right?
