SF is reeling. They're 7-9 in August, although the schedule has been murder (LA, @Colorado, @Atlanta, Cubs, @SD, and @Philly, with @StL & Cin upcoming). Lincecum has pitched poorly recently, which is ominous considering he was shut down at the end of last season. I'm less concerned about SF now than I was two weeks ago, and the Reds catch a break hitting LA while Manny is on a rehab assignment. Still though ... I'll believe it when I see it, so would be happy to pick up the sweep with Wood on the bump today to cover their asses in case they go 2-4 or some shit over the next seven days. I was all rosy about the last big road trip until the team ran into Philly and got punched in the nuts.jlb1705;1749657; said:I dozed off at 7-5. I figured they'd come back - they had just scored two runs as I was passing out. Arizona's bullpen is historically bad. I haven't been worried about Arizona despite the fact this is part of the dreaded "west coast trip". With just a few exceptions, this year's Reds have done what you're supposed to do with lousy teams - bury them. I'm glad to see that they're making hay against them, because it's going to be much tougher in the next two series. My hope for them all year has been to take 2 of 3 in each series. That means for this trip, my hope is 6 of 9. If they can finish off Arizona today that will set them up nicely for the rest of the trip I hope.
I'd rather have Rolen than LaRussa.jlb1705;1749657; said:I read on RZ last night that Dusty has been offered an extension. For as much as I hate many of his in-game decisions, I think it's deserved. As somebody mentioned a few posts ago, this team doesn't quit. How many times has this team shit the bed this year, only to come roaring back? I'm convinced this has more to do with guys like Rolen, Cabrera, Votto, etc., but I think Dusty has a part in it too. I think at the very least he's a good enough character to let veteran leaders who have experience at winning something put their imprint on this young team. A lot of people (perhaps myself included at one point or another) wanted LaRussa once Jocketty came on board. I don't think his ego would have allowed this team to take on the character it has now.

Pedro Feliz cannot hit a baseball.
Career slash line: .252/.289/.415/.704 (wOBA of .301)
2010 slash line: .221/.243/.311/.555 (wOBA of .241)
based on those on-base %s, i'd say he can't see it either
Well, his BABIP is .232...
Which is below his career average of .267.
Holy shit this guy sucks.

Dryden;1750045; said:I had not realized Corky's Fu was so critical to player development. LaRue's Fu never did [censored].

Dryden;1750059; said:Only one inning in and Keels has already misjudged the playability of a popup and lost track of the count on two DBacks hitters, including saying the count was full on Upton after he'd already struck out and was 10' out of the box walking back to the dugout. Keels needs football games to call.
