Reds tidbits (2010 season)

That's been the word on him forever...absolute butcher with the glove.

I'm only following the box score, did they just PH with Zambrano or is this thing busted?

They did.

The worst part was, he hit a chopper back to Bray, and he spiked it into the fucking dirt throwing it to first. Votto had to make the defensive play of the game to dig it out.

On another note, this has gone from an 8-run lead to being one run away from a guaranteed Cordero appearance. :bonk:

Nope, not busted, Zambrano actually pinch hit. Sweet Lou is just mailing it in at this point.

Hayzeusdechristo.

I guess it's thanks for the gift Lou? Is there some weird set of circumstances that all their position players are hurt or something? I'd be apoplectic if my teams manager used a pitcher to PH in a non extra inning game.

Looks like Votto just saved us from a Cordero situation.

Repent! The end is near! Jonny Gomes just walked for the 4th time in a game. I believe that is one of the signs of the apocalypse.

Second sign of the apocalypse: If not for Miguel Cairo, this team would not be where they are. Supersub has covered a lot of innings for Votto, Rolen, and now Phillips, and the Reds haven't skipped a beat.

Cards and Fish ppd due to rain. Reds up 2 full games going into the three game series.

Probables per MLB.com
Mon: Carpenter vs Leake 7:10 edt
Tue: Garcia vs Cueto 7:10 edt
Wed: Wainwright vs Arroyo 12:35 edt

Leake has been shaky lately but so has Garcia. If we can take 2 of 3 with not having our rotation set for them I'll be ecstatic.

I look for Dickerson to hit the lineup within the next couple of days and quite possibly Chapman in the bullpen. I would rather have seen them both get a warmup today in Wrigley before the Cards series but thats the way our organization usually runs things.

Either way, we're up 2 games with a chance to blow it open some. 2 out of 3 would indeed be a freaking miracle and blessing. Lets go Reds!!!

You'll see Dickerson before you see chapman.

The Reds will have to make a decision with Bailey here sooner or later. He has no remaining options.

Votto is all that is man.

He obviously didn't want to see Cordero either - between the scoop at first and the 2-run homer he's doing his best to keep him out of the game.

Sign him to a long term deal already. Give him a 6-8 year contract for $50-60 million like Braun got a couple years ago.

I think the most likely move is shifting Leake to the pen as the long reliever to keep his IP down through the remainder of the season and give Bailey back his spot in the rotation. Harang is the other problem. I don't think Wood should be going anywhere, he's been a stud.
