Reds Tidbits (2009 season)

and the Oakland A's of the early 70's sat around signing campfire songs together after games? Its about talent, the Reds were an unbalanced team then and they are unbalanced team now. All ownership has done is flip the parts of the game they suck at.

The chemistry stuff is all well and good but it doesn't neccessarily equate to winning. If they had even a decent pitching staff the past 7-8 years Reds fans wouldn't be looking to find ways to villify Dunn and JR.

Also, it's a lot of revisionist history. You honestly expect me to believe it was a fractured clubhouse when Kearns, Dunn and Casey all came up at about the same time?

Same shit was said back then about being close, on the right track, great chemistry etc etc etc. Like I said, never bet into streak. Losers tend to stay losers. Betting on the Reds to fail has been a pretty safe bet for a long time now.

You mean you don't approve of first pitch swinging inning ending double play ground balls?
The Reds' lineup would be .200 better if about five of these guys saw more than 2.5 pitches per PA.

Zambrano is bat shit crazy. Make him work and get inside his head a bit and take advantage of the inevitable meltdown. Don't help him out by lowering his PC and let him go into the 7th or 8th.

Here we go with a patented Zambrono stretch. Throwing error moves Tavares to 3rd. Insists on pitching to Votto who bolts one into the gap. Another pick off attempt, this one into centerfield. Now a wild pitch. This guy's always an adventure.

Gets out of it only giving up the one run.

That was against the best five hitters the Reds had to offer ... :wink2:

There's the upgraded defense. Dickerson gives Soriano an extra base with a throwing error of his own. Harang's going to have to work now, runner on 2B, no out, with the meat of the Cubs order coming up.

The Riot drives in Soriano with a single, then gets gunned down by Ramon trying to steal second on a 2-0 count. Harang retire FuckYou,DoMe and Lee to get out of the inning with only 1 run allowed.

Side note, the number of runs scored by the Reds in Harang's starts: 1, 2, 0, 2.

BP must have gone down to the club house after his last AB to read this thread. He took my advice ... a seven pitch walk put BP on 1B with nobody out, and Zambrano crosses the 100 mark on his PC.

Alex Gonzalez commits suicide a home plate. Oh the humanity!

Another bunt hit for T-Virus, whose OBP is about .100 higher than this slugging %, which tells you a lot about his power.

Really, why are the Reds paying $2.5M for this when they already had Norris Hopper?

Nevermind. I already know the answer. Taveras has more experience and the name Willie. Everybody knows Willies are naturals at baseball. Norrises? Notsomuch.
