Reds Tidbits (2009 season)

God, even when these asshats win, they piss me off. Just a bunch of morons. Dickerson runs himself into two outs and drops a ball by trying to dive when he doesn't need to. The entire bottom of the 9th was comically inept. :shake:

Not sure how many of you subjected yourself to this comedy routine:

-Base hit by the mustachiod midget, Brandan Ryan
-stolen base by said munchkin
-ground out to 3rd - Rosales tries to throw the ball away, but Votto bails him out with a leap and toe tap of the bag
-grounder to 2nd, Votto puts himself out of position going for the ball, then puts himself in the way so that Coco, who is late getting to first, can't catch the ball Phillips threw to the bag
-wild pitch
-tapper back to the mound by Pujols, Coco tries to throw it into centerfield, but Ago make a fantastic play, leaping off the bag to the 2nd base side, catching the ball, and putting the tag on the runner as the runner slides under him
-strike out of Holliday - only uneventful at-bat of the half-inning.

Just pathetic. It's like they've never played the game before.

And with such a good field manager.

Truly surprising.

"But as far as looking at Manny Ramirez like he's [serial killer] Ted Bundy, you're out of your mind. At the end of the day, you think anybody really [cares] whether Manny Ramirez's kidneys fail and he dies at 50?

"You were happy if the Red Sox won 95 games. You'd go home, have a cookout with your family. No big deal."

Arroyo is just speaking the truth.

If more players would come out an tell the truth like Arroyo..most steroid talk would go away.

If we could somehow get every sports "journalist" in America on a plane and shoot the fucker down....all steroid talk would go away. They are the only ones who want to talk/read/hear about the shit anymore.

How many prospects did we have to give them?

Reds actually GET a prospect?

Kris Negron | SoxProspects.com

Scouting Report: Speedy infielder plays 2B, SS, 3B, and all three OF positions. Top notch glove with excellent range. At the plate, Negron gets on base at an okay clip, but the hits just aren't there enough. He has a good eye at the plate but still hacks on pitches out of the zone on occasion. Exceptionally fast down the line to first, and quick on the basepaths. Negron would be a prototypical leadoff hitter if he could make more contact.

Does he have leprosy? Oh, wait. He's a 23-year old batting .266 (.340 OBP) at A-ball.

Just to be clear. I don't care who the prospect is. The fact that they got anything in return for AGo is remarkable and is a win for the Reds

Sounds just like what we got rid of, except he doesn't need orthopaedic shoes and saves the Reds about $1 million for the rest of the season.

That's another $1 million they'll be able to throw at the next non-base clogger they decide to go after. As you can tell I'm pretty excited about this.

I doubt he ever sees the light of day at the MLB level but then again, one thing The Dusty knows is you can never have enough fast guys who play multiple positions and keep the bases unclogged.
