Reds Tidbits (2008 season)

As bad as he's scuffeling, JR is a major upgrade for their DH spot.

Now is that enough for them to start winning, doubtful. JR will sell some tickets in Seattle, no matter what. I say ship him back before the 600 and add to his value somewhat.

Anything we get back at all is fine, he just needs to go.

I understand what your saying but what do we really want from them that they might give up?

I'm serious I know next to nothing about their franchise.

A bag of ash bats to replace the cedar ones would be a solid trade.

Seriously, I don't know their minor league system that well and we aren't going to get any good prospects from anyone, anyway.

It payflex and addition by subtraction.

Doesnt really matter, take anything from them and bring up Bruce!

Agreed, and I am with Jax do it before 600 and you get more trade value, as that will sell tickets there for a while...

Get a young player or two about AA level, maybe an leadoff type young CF, SS or young bullpen arm...Then you can bring up Bruce, and unload some salary...

Reds have put 2 in a row together...

Volquez once again with good stuff...Offense continues to put up some runs...

If Kepp goes down look for Paul Janish to get the call up from AAA...He is all defense, not much bat, but has great range, and while it would hurt the offense it would help the defense...

Bad news, Kepp is down and out. He is at best going to miss a month, most likely done for the year. Fractured Patella is what they are saying at the moment. That doesnt say how bad the fracture is though it could be hairline or complex. Best case scenario is hairline and he's off it two weeks with a two week rehab assignment. Worst case is cast or brace and out for 6 months to a year.

Totally shitty, and just getting worse.

I hear this guy isn't ready...

the last 10 games Jay Bruce is hitting .611( 22 for 36). Scoring 11 runs, 6 doubles, 2 triples, 3 home runs, 14 rbi's, 41 total bases, 6 walks. Thats an obp % of .667 and a slugging pct of 1.139 and a 1.806 ops...

That is just plain sick...Please bring him up Walt...I would rather join Bucky Katt in his garden then watch Patterson play in CF...:tongue2:

The Boss is ready...He should be brought up placed in the 3 hole and stay there for 15 straight seasons...We should build around he, Votto, EE, Phillips, Harang, Cueto, Volquez, Bailey, Burton, Bray, and CoCo...

All guys that actually look to understand the game...pitch the ball well, or hit the ball well, or play good to great defense...

I have one big reason. Keep Bruce away from this culture of losing as long as possible. In fact, I think they should send Cueto down and bring up Justin Lehr.
