Reds Tidbits (2008 season)

The next twelve games after tomorrow come against teams that have combined for a .412 win percentage. They've set the table for a nice run and a chance to get above .500 before playing the Brewers and Cubs again.
I'm not impressed by the Brewers, the Reds have handled them well this season -- the key is to trail by one run in the ninth so you can shell Gagne, and the Reds have been spectacular at executing that strategy thus far. :p Frankly, the Pirates' lefty junkballers are probably the most troublesome roadblock between now and mid August when the Cubs and Cards roll around again.

Damn. Sucks to know what would have been if CoCo doesn't blow the two run lead and the save in the opener. With Volquez tomorrow, they'd be going for the four game sweep.

The bats have woken up and the young guys are starting to 'get it.' Look out.

Oh yeah, I notice under the "official" box score the game is noted as having started after an 11 minute delay, so I just want to say "Screw you Barry Larkin."

Barry, I love ya. I collected your baseball cards and cheered for you and bought tickets to games to see you play, so I'm really kinda pissed that you thanked everybody but me by name tonight. I feel slighted. Holy crap that was the longest award acceptance speech I've ever heard!

I am with you on Herrera...Maybe they don't want to waste another option this soon, and maybe they are looking to cut ties with Coffey after this stint in the majors, or looking to trade him for a bucket of balls and a bag of seeds?
I hope they cut ties w/ Coffey......1lb of BBQ seeds would be more than a fair exchange,IMO.......

Man if Edinson can have a big start tomorrow it is very possible that we could take 3 of 4 from the Mets...

Gonna be neat to see Volquez vs. Pedro...

Yeah, it would have been. They announced earlier this week that Pelfrey would be starting in place of Pedro. I am actually going to Cincy for the game today and almost wet my pants with glee when I found out it was Pedro and Edison. Damn Flomax.

I watched both games and I see a major improvement and this team coming together as a unit. Three games under 500 and 10 out, which a nice little hot streak we can do this.

[anti jinx mojo] they are the same band of fucktards, they'll blow it [/anti jinx mojo]

:wink2:

funny - you probably should be impressed at least even a little. 3 gb vs 10 gb - i know they would gladly switch places. also gagne hasnt been the closer since 3rd week in may - went on dl. he doesnt pitch 8th or 9th right now.
reds dont have a prayer anyway with 3 teams ahead of them in their own division. heck they are only 2 in front of last place.
