Reds Tidbits (2008 season)

Fucking Reds!

Runners on 2nd & 3rd with 1 out. No runs as they run themselves out of the inning.
Bases loaded with no outs. No runs as they get a weak pop up from Nacho and two strikeouts.

What doesn't show in the box score are all the stupid mistakes that aren't actually scored errors, like nobody covering first when BP pulls a ball out of his ass with a nice play, infielders running into each other, misplaying fly balls in the out field such as Bruce's two steps in on the ball over his head (he's a defensive replacement for Griffey?) etc etc ...

Blow it up WJ. Hopefully one of those nine scouts they showed charting Weathers has something good to offer.

It's very important, IMO, for both the future of the Reds and for Jay Bruce, that someone picks him up after that K to end the game.

that was pure Hoffman at his best right there. Bruce was so over-matched it was amazing to me, frankly, that it lasted that long. That was absolutely a seasoned vet getting over on a Rookie and it's important for that Rookie that his teammates pick him up. Otherwise that could very very easily lead to a pro-longed slump.

I think Bruce will be OK. I'm more concerned with Bailey after the bullpen has blown his second straight quality start when he left in line for the W. Now, Homer Bailey, you are a Cincinnati Reds starting pitcher! :tongue2:

Hope Homer doesn't get rattled and come out overthrowing thinking he's got to go a complete game all by himself.

What a vote of confidence Dusty has given to Todd Coffey, huh? Running Bray, Weathers, and Cordero out there ... what? Five days in a row?! Don't worry Todd, we'll call you when we're either up 10 runs or down 10 runs.

Hey, Redlegs......Fuck you, you stupid fucking dicks. I'm taking tonight off. Maybe I'll go ahead and take the rest of the week away from you....what is the term?.......Oh, yes....fucktards. Sorry, but I can't watch this shit anymore.

I mean, come on. 2-4 in the last six games and all four losses come from the bullpen choking on it. I just can't take it anymore.

Damn Reds have pulled me in again. Judging by the lack of recent posts in this thread, I wasn't the only one who had decided to take the night off to protect my sanity. A little while ago though, I couldn't resist and checked the score on Sportsline. It was 3-0 Padres, and even though I had given in and checked I still felt somewhat vindicated that at least I wasn't watching on TV. Later, I couldn't resist again and decided to check the score by flipping through the channels. 3-3, bottom of the 8th. Damn you guys.

So now I'm watching, and I'm hearing Grande refer to "Coco" Cordero for the millionth time. I'm wondering what in the hell Cordero ever did to get people to call him that all the damn time. As far as I can tell, he is neither a chimpanzee nor a stripper (whether or not either of those would have won the Reds a few more games over the past week is another question altogether.) I figure it must be something like what happened with George Costanza, where Cordero insisted on being called something like "T-Bone" so they call him "Coco" instead because it's not cool to choose your own nickname.

Way to go Kepp! (I thought for sure they'd blow this one).

So did I, flipping through the channels I seen the Red legs were down 3-0 and I though here we fucking go again. Then after the WSOP on ESPN, I flipped to FSN and dayum 3-3 in the 11th and pulled it out of there ass again.

I'll take it. 'Bout time we got some damn breaks for a change.
A Reds win isn't about catching some breaks, it's about the raw physical talents of the roster overcoming the collective stupidity of the organization.

Somewhere in the clubhouse they should hang that demotivator sign, "None of us is as dumb as all of us."
