although Micky (injuries) and Teddy Ballgame (war) are also on that "what if" list.

Somebody hits a significant HR, and suddenly everybody in outfield stands becomes a total dick. Especially the guy who gets the ball.

If I ever find myself catching one of those somehow, I'd give the ball to the player in exchange for a handshake and a picture with the guy.

A couple of thoughts:

1. First and foremost....a big Congrats to Griff! It's strikes me as a bit sad that his accomplishment has been lessened by the likes of Sosa & Bonds. If it weren't for them, can you imagine what a huge deal this would be?

2. Wasted opportunities. 8 LOB in 5 innings, including the bases loaded twice? *sigh*

3. Official scorers suck. No was that should be a hit for Hermida. No fucking way. I don't care how fucking hard he it, it was hit right to him. Pitchers would adore me if they ever made me an official scorer. ERA's would be down by half. And Votto......get in front of it, mate. Let it hit your chest, you're a big dude.....little league stuff, my man.

4. The Reds called and offered me the starting shortstop job. I told 'em to fuck off. I value my health and well-being.
