Reds Tidbits (2008 season)

The only thing I have to say after these two shitty turnouts...

Friday night I was telling my friend that I would trade Hanley Rameriz straight up for Aaron Harang...Basically said that while pitching is great, a great SS with a huge bat like his in the middle of the lineup to go along with Bruce, and you are set for 10+ years with Bruce, Rameriz and have one of the best lineups in all of baseball...Harang has maybe 3 or 4 good years tops...They said hell no...

Too bad that Hanley made me look like a freakin' genius today...

Agreed.

Once we are officaly sellers at the break I think you make a concerted effort to move all the fine china.

Harang, Arroyo and Cordero's contracts scare me in the next couple of years. Each could potentially bring a big return from a desperate contender(assuming there is nothing wrong with Harang...he looks like shit lately).

Anyone who is in the market for our glut of utility guys could help themselves as far as I'm concerned.

Our biggest organizational issues are CF, SS and C. There is nothing in-house. We have a surplus of inhouse pitching to hopefully fill the void left if you traded one or more of those three.

Schedule of the next 25 games(projected goal 15-10)
ATL x 1
W
@ PHI x 4 L L W L
@ FL x 4 W L L
STL x 3
BOS x 3
LAD x 3
@ NYY x 3
@ TOR x 3
@ Clev x 1

They now need to go 12-5 (.706) over the next 17 games to stay on pace for 90 wins.

Good fucking luck.

Why are you worried about 90 wins? Seriously? This team hasn't shown any type of consistency ESPECIALLY when it comes to road trips. Outside of Harang (who gets no run support) and Volquez, Arroyo and Cueto have been up and down (more up for Cueto, more down for the JTM spokesman) and there still isn't a solid choices as a 5th guy (although I think Bailey will either be the guy or he won't be a Red much longer).....

In short what I'm saying is worry about tomorrow, don't worry about the end of the season quite yet....

couldn't agree more. I feel pretty content with just sitting back and letting the season unravel until atleast the trading deadline to see if we are buyers or sellers.

Too bad Bruce wasnt on base also, that would be ballgame with Volquez on the mound.

Way to go Jr. You're a class act buddy!

I was out grilling some nice T-bones and heard Marty with the call. I know Jax bags on him, but I still love the HOFer and was glad to hear it that way. I guess that's the result of 32 years of listening to the old fucker.

The years past has showerd us spots of doing that are they willing to get rid of such players as Griff, because I heard rumors and him stating he wants to play in Cinci.. Another breath he wants to win a Champioship. Who, What, When will the season get determined more from Manage, and then the Staff, player(ball Player example Jay Brtuce)or get player in FA before the deadline, so Cincihas a chance for a push for a winner in Cinci, Again.

Class act all the way. It's amazing that he's at 600 HRs and he's still in the top-5 for "what-if?" careers (with people like Bo Jackson).

Congrats, Jr!
