Reds Tidbits (2007 Season)

And if I have to read one more quote from these dipshits bemoaing their plight and whining that "We're not as bad as we're playing" or "We're not as bad as our record," I'm going to start leaving flaming bags of horseshit at each and every gate to the stadium.

Yes, you dumb assholes, you are as bad as your record. Buy a fucking clue already.

So glad I didnt go...The two hour drive wasnt worth a tank of gas, a piss poor game, and a ton of food...

Rather sit home not watch the game, throw the football around a little bit, play with the dog, eat some sloppy joes and watch the Cavs win a great game on my birthday...

By the way I am with all you guys that until they realize there is a problem here, they have a problem...

Well they finally made the big move we've all been hoping for.

They just DFA'd Sarloos.:roll1:

This just in, WK is in way over his head.

EDIT******
They optioned him to L'ville not DFA. Livingston will stay up but pitch from the pen, 1 starter move left.

HMMMM

It appears as though Ryan Freel is on his way to the hospital, after somewhat colliding with RF Norris Hopper and landing awkwardly on the warning track chasing down a 3rd inning fly ball. More to come, no doubt about that...hopefully Ryan is ok, and it's mostly precautionary....

EDIT: Reports from Good Samaritan are that Freel has feeling and movement in all his extremities and appears to be ok.

I'm glad that they didn't just DFA him. The team is a mess right now but I like Saarloos as a fifth starter in the future, I think he has the makeup for it. Everybody is just playing so bad right now that his recent performance shouldn't be held against him.

I wonder if Freel's injury might foil any "plans" they had. Having that open spot on the 40 was sure looking promising for Homer or Dumatrait to get the call.

Got to catch some of the game driving back from my parents on the radio. It was nice to hear some enthusiasm from Marty and JB. Marty was gushing over EE's defense. As frustrating as yesterday was to watch, it was nice to see them get a good win.

EE's defense today was a flash of what the kid could be and no bullshitting, it's breathtaking.

These fucksticks have a good young core of position players at the MLB level in BP, JH and EE. If Dunn can be LTC'd there are worse foundations on which to build.

Question is can they do it? I don't have a lot of faith in WK but this trade deadline will tell us a lot.

I am feeling more and more like we are going to see Homer sooner rather than later...

Early in the season there were things that he needed to work on, like his control he was walking 4/9innings, but his outing tonight he didnt have any walks and struck out 9...

He only gave up one ER and he shouldnt of given up that as he should not of went out there in the 8th inning, Coffey let the inherited runner score...

He retired 12 in a row at one point, and this puts 2 dominant outings together in a row and for some reason as Livingston is going to be working out of the pen it seems the ones making the calls don't like Livingston in the starting rotation, as they had Sarloos replace him after he threw a good game in his only start, and now he is only in the pen...

My guess is they will either never let Milton pitch again, or they might try him for a couple more games and then bring Bailey up, but I am thinking he is up no later than July 15th...

i think that we will also see Votto by that point as well...

The only small hope that I have for this team is as Jax said the young core they are putting together and the way the guys in the minors are performing...

I have a friend who is a pretty big Phillies fan. They had the same debates about Cole Hamels last season.

If the Reds don't try to lean on the kid from the beginning and let him develop at his own pace in the MLB, it will pay big dividends I think. They are similar pitchers in that both are strikeout pitchers, but Bailey has better stuff.

This may be just for pure entertainment's sake, but what are the chances the Reds' fire sale begins with Bailey? I mean, come on, they haven't made one good decision yet....:wink2:

I know, I'm just sayin....:tongue2:

From every report I have read Homers 3rd pitch(changeup) still isn't MLB quality. There are a lot of other little things that make me say keep him down but this is the main one. I don't want him up here getting shelled and with no 3rd pitch and spotty control of the other 2 he will get crushed. That often leads power pitchers to try too hard and God forbid could hurt his arm.

As much as I'd like him to be ready there is absolutely nothing to be gained by rushing him. If we don't see him till 08 thats fine by me.
