Reds Tidbits (2007 Season)

I guess it's a good thing they sent down Encarnacion. Russell Martin just slid into the freakin' 3rd base coach's box to take out Manos de Oro on the force play at third. If somebody's gonna taken out on some cheap shit like that, it might as well be somebody who can't even range eight feet to his left to knock down a routine five-hopper.

It deserves these fucks right for having Castro come up with the game on the line...That should of been EE...

Conine is not a number 4 hitter I think he has a OBP of about .250, Bphil is not a 2 hole hitter...Juan Castro should never play unless he is being put in for his defense late in the game...Jerry Narron is the worst fuckin' manager ever...

We all knew the game was over when we saw the lineup card...It wouldnt of mattered if Bronson wouldnt given up that 2 out hit in the first we still would of found a way to lose this game...

The only guys worth a damn in the lineup tonite were Griffey, Dunn, and Bphil, besides Griffey the others were batting in positions where they are hampered and cannot succeed...

Also WTF did we bring up Keepinger if we are not going to play him, why not give him the start tontie?

I really hope that WK is out in LA for this series to send Narrons ass packing...

I really don't know what to say at this point, besides this organization sucks...They should not be this bad, they are getting great starting pitching, and IMO that is the most important cog in winning baseball games yet we can't do that...

Bring up Votto, Bailey, Livingston, EE, McBeth, send the old scrappy vets packing and lets just build for the future...

We should turn this thread into a Louisville Bats thread out of protest.

Sounds good to me...They won in dramatic fashion tonite with a walk off homer in the 10th...

EE was 0-3 with a walk...His one shot he hit in the gap and almost had a double...Had a nice one handed play on a bunt and made a nice play and got the out...

If you can't tell EE is my favorite player and there is no reason for our best rhanded hitter to be down in AAA...

We can't even sniff LH pitching and EE should of been in that lineup tonite batting 4th...

Also it looks like Gonzo is going to go into that slump that will level his numbers back out to his career avg. and Narron is goign to leave him hit in the 5 hole an protect our clean up hitter...:! Even tho it is usually Phillips or Conine...

I would like 5 minutes with Narron just to hear his reasoning for these lineup and then beat his brains in and tell him that he is a dumb ass...

How hard is it to manage the Cincinnati Reds? I mean really. There arent a bunch of role players on this team that you have to plug in in situations, you pretty much know what you are going to get from each one of them.

Lineup card #1, predicated on Freel leading off, which should happen 3X's a week max.
Until Edwin gets his head fixed.

3B Freel
1B Hatte/Conine
RF Griffey
CF Hamilton
LF Dunn
2B Phillips
SS Gonzalez
C Ross/Valentin

I'm torn at the #2 because I like Hatteberg there but hate Conine there. When Conine plays, which should be never (read: Votto), put him 6th and Gonzo 2nd.
There is no need to switch that lineup on a given night unless you maneuver your 3-4-5 guys but they should always remain 3-4-5!

With Edwin back
Switch Hamilton and EdE

CF Hamilton
1B Hatteberg
RF Griffey
3B Encarnacion
LF Dunn
2B Phillips
SS Gonzo
C Ross/Valentin

Numbnuts can even jackoff to his RLRL in the middle of the lineup.

You see. I can see it. How come the guy getting paid cant see it?

I agree, if they're not going to try bring up the AAA guys and lets start tomorrow as a new ballclub. If we're going to lose every game by 1 or 2 runs anyway, its not going to hurt us.

Dont give up on Gonzo just yet. I think the new uniform suits him just fine. He may come down off that .300 perch he's on, but I still think .285-.290 is in his sights.

I like your lineups...I would just put Dunn in the 2 hole b/c that gives him great protection with Griffey behind him, and they can't really pitch around him especially if Freel gets on...

I guess all of this just makes sense and Narron doesnt see that...

I just don't understand why you would want you best power hitter/OBP/OPS guy to be sitting in the 6 hole with a guy like Juan Castro behind him...I mean if I was the pitcher I would pitch around Dunn and pitch to castro and Ross...

Hopper & Catro? No Freel. I didn't get that lineup whatsoever. I thought sending EE down was supposed to make this team better, not put Manos de Oro in the regular rotation. Do these guys even want to win? If they don't DFA Santos or Stanton on Sunday, then I have no confidence they truly want to have a future.

3B Freel
1B Hatte/Conine
LF Dunn
RF Griffey
2B Phillips
CF Hamilton
SS Gonzalez
C Ross/Valentin

or flip Griffey & Dunn.. never, ever start Castro at least give Keppinger a shot. Freel out with the flu? I would never think that would keep him out.

Wolf shackles Reds' offense
Dodgers 2, Reds 0
BY KEVIN KELLY | [email protected]

LOS ANGELES ? On the anniversary of a 1963 Sandy Koufax no-hitter against the Giants, another Dodgers left-hander appeared almost as unhittable Friday.
Starting pitcher Randy Wolf struck out a season-high 11 without a walk over seven scoreless innings as Los Angeles beat the Reds, 2-0, before 49,588 fans at Dodger Stadium.
?He was mixing up his pitches ? moving his fastball in and out and had a good change-up,? said Reds third baseman Juan Castro, who had one of Cincinnati?s four hits off Wolf. ?He was pretty good. He had good control.?
