Reds Tidbits (2007 Season)

What a goddamned motherfucking shock. Stanton comes out a sucks gigantic fucking donkey balls. Congrats, you piece of shit, you suck.

9-5, bases loaded top of the 8th with just one out and "relief" for Stanton forthcoming. Oh, and it's DF Weathers, who gives up a hit to the first batter every fucking time.

Sonofabitch. Ausmus, you dumbfuck. What the fuck are ya doing?

Well I think that the reason why we have been watching is b/c I have been watching...

I tuned back into the game the other night after I got fed up with Milton and we came, only for me to turn back to the game and the first and only pitch I see is Salmon give up that homer to Berkman...

Then I don't watch today and we won...

EE not doing so hot so far in AAA...

He is 0-2 and also has an error in the field...

Edit: He is now 1-3 and he scored a run...

Also of note Dumatrait is throwing tonite and throwing well, but that would cross his name off the list of guys that will throw Sunday...It will either be Bailey or Livingston and I still think it will be Livingston...They want to wait on Bailey and they are going to want to give him his first start in Cincy IMO...

It will be something that will put butts in the seat late in the season...

They are saying BL.

I fear Narron and WK have fucked EE's head up so bad he'll never recover.

Honestly, my ranting last night just about covered every move they made today. Wayne is that you?

I actually like the move to AAA for EE. I'm not sure on Keppinger coming up he's basically just a body there and I wouldn't mind actually getting two pitchers up here instead but we'll see how this plays out.

You can just see it in EdE's face when he's playing, its almost as if he's thinking about somewhere else an when he messes up it just pushes him further away. He needs to play everday for two weeks. If his bat doesnt heat up we can live with that for the time being, but the errors have to stop. You cant give major league teams 4 and 5 outs an inning. Let him go down there where it doesnt matter if they win or lose but if they improve. Lets see where he is in 2 weeks.

Its good to see Ross finally starting to hit. He's jumped about .030 points in the last week or so and he's getting some pop back. This team is capable of putting up 8-10 runs everyday when going right. Course, they're also capable of putting up 2 runs in 5 games when going bad.

:slappy:

I was sitting right by the left field foul pole.

That Ensberg foul ball was about one singular FOOT from hitting the damned thing.

Some kid tried to breaks some ribs diving to get the ball over some seats too

I just started laughing when he hit it, I thought for sure that fucker was gone. Then cockbreath Weathers gets a gift call for the K and starts pumping his fist like he did something. :shake:

EE finished the game 2-4...

If he can put some games like that together I would like to see him back up here in about 2 or 3 weeks...

Just needs to help that confidence...He is only 24 so there is no reason to give up on him, he has way to much potential to be a .280 type hitter with about 50 doubles, 20 homers and about 100 rbis if he puts it together...

Also McBeth threw another scoreless innings and got the save, throwing 8 strikes...I do believe that he has a good fastball with a good 2nd pitch and a decent 3rd pitch...I don't remember what they are, but he might have some future closer stuff...

Totally agree. EE had a great winter in the Dominican. I'm not sure what has happened up here. His bat really never was in question, its his ability to field his position.

McBeth may end up being a total steal from Oakland. If this guy ends up saving 5 games or more this year we stole him. I'm not sold on Denorfia at least in our system but Oakland may get what they need from him in their lineup as well. I say give it one more month and if either the bullpen is sucking or we're out of the race, bring up the youngsters, get a guy in here that can teach and get the most out of them and see what they've got.

As long as we score 10 runs a game we should end up .500. :tongue2:

I think it is just a matter of time, he seems to be throwing the ball much better this year, and just seems like he fights confidence issues at times, and a lot has to do when he is struggling at the plate, getting moved up and down the lineup in and out of the lineup...He doesnt have the head for Narron managed team IMO...You take a kid like that put him in the 4, 5, or 6 hole and tell him that spot is his and boast his confidence every day of the week...

I agree on Deno, he put up great numbers in Louisville last year and some solid numbers in the majors last year, but Hopper can fill the same role, and we got a guys like McBeth in return so I am all for that trade...

Also one guy that I don't think has been getting any cred is Terry Reynolds...The head scouting player development guy of the minors...He gets credit for drafting Bailey, Bruce, and quite a few very good players in the later rounds...

The minors seem to be on the up and up and with another good draft this year, we should be set to compete for a couple seasons by builiding from the ground up...Now we just need a manager to manage these guys at the major league level...

Speaking of scouting and the draft- we both commented in the Luebke thread about seeing him in Cincy, how high do you think Cory will go this year? Is he currently on the Reds radar? I know this, if he isnt he damn well should be.
