Reds Tidbits (2007 Season)

Can't ask much more from Uncle Milty. 6 IP 2ER 3Runs overall should have just been 1.

Ross hits into a triple play the likes of which you may never see again in your lifetime. 1st and 2nd no one out, he hits a grounder to to 3rd base and runs so fucking slow they get all 3.

I agree about Uncle Milty. Edwin's throwing error in the first cost him 2 runs. I thought he could have gone another inning. Hamels wasn't doing anything spectacular, just good pitch selection and placement. I think Dunn's backs is still bothering him. He was late on 90mph fastballs last night. That, or he's thinking too much. He looked to be trying to hit the ball where it was pitched a couple of times and missed by a mile.

As for the triple play, I yelled "bunt" right before it happened. He didn't listen. It would have taken a fast runner to have beat that. I got down to 3rd like a rocket. At least I can say I saw one in person. Still haven't seen a no-hitter yet (2 one hitters including Kerry Wood's 20K performance against the 'Stros his rookie year).

Overall, it was a nice night to be at the ball park. The fleece blankets are probably the nicest giveaway item I've ever gotten.

Oh, for pete's sake. Get these clowns off the field.

I am with you...The things they do are just bush league shit...

I know I have been hitting this point a million times, but it had been that everytime that Gonzalez had been in the lineup he had only been in the 7 hole and the catcher in the 8 hole...Well now he had Gonzalez in the 5 hole last nite and then 8 today...Also moved the catcher into the 7 hole today...

Just so annoying that he can't send a constant lineup out there, and it is driving me crazy...

Also we have more errors than runs in this series...:!

Was that before after Castro's boot?

What a s**t series. We win the first one in dramatic fashion, get great pitching from our 3 and 5 starters and can't beat the worst team (coming into the game record wise) in the bigs? I am glad I was busy this weekend or I would have been pulling out hair in clumps.

I actually feel bad for Milton at this point. He's given use 3 decent or better games and we've given him no run support and s**tty defense in return. He's exceeded our expectations and more. Maybe we need to trade him so he can pitch for a contender because he deserves it instead of let's unload him because we can do better.

Baseball notebook: Griffey recovers from bout of diverticulitis

Tuesday, April 24, 2007 3:25 AM

Associated Press

Ken Griffey Jr. was expected back in the Cincinnati Reds' lineup tonight against the St. Louis Cardinals after recovering from diverticulitis, an inflammation of the colon.

The right fielder was out of the starting lineup for the past four games of a homestand. He pinch-hit in the ninth inning of a 9-3 loss to the Philadelphia Phillies on Sunday.
Griffey confirmed that he was diagnosed about six months ago with diverticulitis.
"It's just a condition that I have," Griffey said. "I've got to watch everything that I eat. There are certain foods that I have to stay away from. It's something that a lot of people have, and it's uncomfortable."

Don't expect Reds makeover
Not many offensive options in Louisville
BY JOHN FAY | [email protected]

Wayne Krivsky was on his way to Louisville to watch the Reds' Triple-A team play.
"This was a scheduled trip," Krivsky said. "So don't read anything into it."
That's not what you wanted to hear. Krivsky would have won points with the fans by saying:
I'm going to see if we've got anyone down there better than the guys on the big-league club. If we do, they're going to be in the big leagues."
After the Reds played the way they played on the homestand - losing five of seven and looking fairly horrendous in doing so - fans want a shakeup.

Touch 'em all Junior! Finally got one, 5-1 Red legs, top 5th.

EDIT: Booyakasha...the Reds are erupting. Gonzalez hits #2 on the night, a 3-run shot to make it 8-1....Harang singles sharply up the middle, and La Russa yanks the Kipster. Let's see if the bullpen can blow this one....

Despite the colon issues, I thought a few days off would give the Griff's wrist some needed rest. I thought Dunner really needed a day off too, still not convinced his back is 100%. Good to see the sticks are out tonight!

Great to see us putting some runs on the board...

I do believe that everyone besides Ross has a hit...It is just too bad that he can not snap out of that slump...At least he is now hitting the ball some, but they are all on the ground right at guys...Would like to see him get some linedrives and balls in the gap...

As bass-ackwards as Narron is, if he knew Gonzo was doublin' up tonight, he probably would sat Dunn and then some. Early, but maybe this road trip is what the doctor ordered.
