Reds Tidbits (2007 Season)

Its getting closer to the time we say CF is Hamiltons and get as many of the next 140 games as we can.

JR and Freel can split time in RF.

Slump or no, you let a young guy like EE play through it, I don't want to see any of his AB's go to Freel.

If we are more than 5 games back at the ASB Freel needs to be traded.

Milton, Lohse, Cormier all need to be offerd to the Yankees and see what we can get in the way of a package of prospects. They have to be close to mashing the panic button.

I was thinking this almost verbatim last night watching baseball tonight. If the dumbasses in NY aren't blowing Arod right about now, I'd ask for a trade out of there if I were him. He's the antithesis of Arroyo right now. He gives em the run support and they cant win, Arroyo cant get any.

Hey Jax, or anyone else. Would you guys give up EdE and Bailey for Arod? We would have to throw in other prospects but would you do it.

I'm in the camp that would. Definitely. I know Bailey is going to be awesome for the next 7-10 years, but Arod might make us a WS contender right now.

Hamilton
Dunn
Arod
Griffey
Phillips
Hatteberg
Agon

It even fits Narrons RLRL order. except Hamilton.

I agree on all of it. If the Reds are out of it and Lohse keeps it going, they gotta trade him. He'll be a free agent after this season and Boras is his agent, so there's virtually no chance of signing him to an extension. If Lohse finding his head and his changeup is not a fluke, I'd like for the Reds to keep him around. He's still fairly young, and would be an asset at the back of the rotation behind Harang, Arroyo and Bailey. In his situation though and with the free agent market being as outrageous as it was this past offseason, I don't see him not going on the open market and not getting an offer that the Reds could match.

I laugh...when was the last time you thought that the Reds actually had any pitching help for the almighty Spankees... let's get involved, by all means

Milton, Cormier, Weathers, Stanton, etc...we can help NYY.

Right now, we have better pitching than NYY. And I absolutely dispise NYY. Besides Mrs. Steinbrenner, of course. Vomit.

Can we trade them Gabe White again? He's probably found his way back onto the Reds roster again somehow, right? That guy is the cockroach of relief pitchers.

I just got this off sportsline. I knew Hamilton was going good but.....

"Josh Hamilton entered the game leading NL rookies in home runs (five), RBI (11), runs (10), total bases (28), walks (8), on-base percentage (.413), slugging percentage (.737) and extra-base hits (7). "
(Updated 04/25/2007).

His 6th HR tonight leads all outfielders in MLB (tied with Bonds). He's right up there in runs too.

so, it's pretty much like, for every cubs fan, living in ohio, selling out our GABP, watching soriano, with your wood and your prior and your zambrano, we can finally say...we'll take Josh Hamilton. you can sit down now, Cubs fan.

Ugh, throwing error by Gonzo. This is getting ugly.

I've been wondering lately... Why do first basemen not pull off the bag more often on that kind of play? Sure, it's still an error and it's not the ideal play, but if the first basemen puts his body in front of the ball on a wide throw like he's fielding a grounder, at least the runners don't advance (and score) like on that play. I just don't see any sense in keeping your foot on the bag in the outside chance that you make a miracle snag, and give up extra bases and runs as the ball goes to the dugout.
