Reds Tidbits (2007 Season)

What about a guy like Dickerson stepping up midway thru the season for us...

Where is he starting the season at...Louisville?

I also would love to see Hopper step up for us as well, when he gets back from his injury...I am assuming that he is starting at Louisville...

Narron already at it again...

With the flipping of Dunn and Phillips in the lineup and putting Conine at 1b...

That is 2 different lineups in 2 games...I realize that there is a lefty on the mound tonite, but we all know it isnt going to be this consistent lineup with a lefty...

Well so much for a sweep of the Cubs...

We had about 5 balls we hit that on most days would of been out, but they stayed in the park due to the cold and wind...

Burton didnt have a good debut as he was all over the place and gave up 3 straight walks...But you could tell he was anxious, but Santos came in to clean up his mess...

According to his intervieew on the pregame with Marty, he plans to use this scheme against leftys all year. He said Dunn will bat 2nd or 4th vs rightys and 3rd or 5th vs leftys.

Broonson pitched well as usual and the Reds made a mediocre left hander look like Cy Young as usual. No surprises here. At least Narron got Burton out of there before he totally blew up. Nice to see Santos pitch out of the jam. It will be interesting to see what happens when some of the guys on DL in Louisville are ready to go.

Well I just saw Burton's MLB debut, and I like his arm, if nothing else. I think this guy will come around.

I absolutely loved turning on my TV, preparing for Grande and Welsh, but instead getting Thom and Jeff. Very nice.

Yeah you could tell all the movement that Burton has on his fast ball, but you could also tell that the kid was just nervous in his MLB debut...

Yeah he can say that, but we all know that one day it will be Dunn in the 2 hole one in the 4 and he will continue to tinker with it game in and game out...It annoys the shit out of me and I am sure that the players would like to get used to who they are following in the lineup and have an idea of who will be on base and all that...

Agree 100%. Consistancy is so important to these guys. Day in and day out there is immense preperation that goes on, they shouldn't have to worry every day about where they are going to hit in the order and how they need to change their apporach, who they are going to have to follow, etc.
