Reds Tidbits (2007 Season)

it's been 17 years now since we had a world series title...scoring for us still means losing 11-10.

Aint that a bitch? Scoring like that means people still show up to the games. Filling the seats will keep a FO from pushing the panic button, or in the Reds case, taking any freaking action at all! It will take some very drastic measures at the moment for the Reds to have any hope whatsoever. Case in point:

Larussa complains and openly accuses Aaron Harang for beaning Bennet the other night. We all know Harang didnt do it on purpose, he talked to the guy afterwards. Larussa didnt say he did it on purpose but he faulted Harang for "throwing up and in dangerously." Link

What did Narron do when he heard his Ace was being questioned and vilified in the media? He basically gave Larussa a pass and sided with him not Harang. Fucking jackass!
I dont expect Narron to go all "Piniella" on him but at least stand up for your guy when it counts. Larussa was standing up for his guy, Harang should be able to expect the same from his manager. Thats the way the shit is supposed to work. What do Reds fans and Cincinnatians have to do to get Bob C's attention? Only one thing wakes guys like that up...don't go to the game. Listen on the radio. Watch it on t.v. if its available. Hell mow the lawn, play catch with the kid do anything. You sure as hell aren't missing anything if you pick up the paper the next day instead.

How bad would it look if they only drew 10,000 on Friday for Homer's debut against Cleveland?:!

Narron has to go, and like, right flippin' now. He's the only guy in that dugout in uniform that hasn't taken the field this year, and the results have remained the same. Get rid of his ugly ass and anyone who even looks like him. Even more, I'm still struggling with this one, as I'm not much of a fanatic, but there is a Simpson's character that looks exactly like Jerry's sorry ass, and that character needs fired as well. Dammit I love the Reds. It gets harder every day to even admit that.

It's been 23 years for me, going on 24....hell the Orioles of today are SO far gone from the Orioles that I grew up with I don't even bother to follow them and I refuse to follow them until that dried up ambulance chaser is dead or has sold the team.....

So don't feel so bad

And yes I am seeing some definite parallels between the 2007 Reds and the 1987 Orioles.....

The Reds draft an athletic Catcher first, Shortstop second, and a RH power pitcher.......from Canada?

The catcher pick looks pretty solid.
The shortstop is likely to move to 3rd or Left Field.
The righty has two pitches FB and Slider. He may move to the bullpen.

Still in the supplemental round 1.

So far not so bad...Bob C was willing to open the bank to go after Porcello, but that would of been tough considering he was going to demand about 8 mill...

Great start by Lohse, way to keep that trade value high. The draft is such a crap shoot, I won't even comment for a few years on this one. Catcher is a position of need and I can't blame them for picking a highly rated one. Let's see if Stormy can finish this one.

Tomorrow is Homer day!!
Don't know if it's too soon, but looking forward to seeing what he's got.

Almost forgot, how 'bout that Hamilton kid? He can play a little D. And reason #2174 to fire Jerry Narron: batting Castro #2.

EE has been on fire since coming back up to the bigs. maybe it was a good idea after all.

He had started hitting before he went down, it was just a matter of time and he had worked the kinks out b4 being sent down...They were just looking for a scapegoat and while it is a good thing that he is hitting and playing better, it makes them look all smart, but really he was turning the corner before being sent down, so all they did was not have his hot bat in the lineup instead it was sitting in Louisville tearing the shit out of the ball, and the same thing with Hamilton as he could of been in Colarado for that last game...

Yeah I will say once again that if Lohse can continue to throw like he is someone is going to over pay for him...You have to strike when the iron is hot as well...

I just hope that he is mentally ready, and if he faces adversity he just stays with his stuff...No reason to try to be the savior at this point in the season...

As for batting Castro #2, WTF...This guy wouldnt even make 90% of rosters in baseball and yet he is hitting second...Why b/c he is hitting a buck seventy...Yeah that is right our #7 hitter is hitting .170...:!

Narron couldnt coach a high school team for of major league prospects to a winning season, b/c he would find a way to play the bat boy and put him in the 2 hole...:!
