Nah but like Pnuts said, the stories are everywhere...the whole process is fascinating to watch as every little loophole is discovered and exploited.

They know ways to get around the rules. I sat in a meeting with a prominent D1 coach who came to visit our school...he was not allowed to talk to our player yet but the kid was in the office also. He gave the whole school presentation to the coaches but had his back to the kid so they never made eye contact. "Coach, I want you to make sure to tell ______ that we can guarantee him...."

Long way from Woody getting in trouble because he made sure some of his players had winter coats.

I think a lot of the $$$$ pressure comes on kids who come from a poor/inner city background and are vulnerable to financial inducements. I have known the families of two tOSU recruits-one's mom was a secretary at my dad's work-and I never heard or noticed any of this craziness-these kids were both from stable, middle class families.

I tend to disagree with this because I think kids are recruited pretty much the same way if they're good enough regardless of the families income level. You can't tell me that dancing butt naked chicks weren't used to lure guys like Matt Leinart, Carson Palmer and others yo USC and these kids came from money, same with schools across the board. I mean come on we're guys if there's ONE thing that will entice any heterosexual male, ESPCIALLY a teenage one, its gonna be women, women and money, in that order. Guys can be broke if we could still get chicks, lol! And most of the kids nowadays go to pretty prominent schools anyway for HS due to grades. So when you look at most of the top kids you see Country day at the end of their school or the word God in the school. Most of the top tier kids go to top parrochial or private schools anyway so they've already seen the money. I wasn't even that good but I went to a VERY wealthy school in Cincinnati, and saw some of the practices even at a D4 private school! Schools will do anything necessary to secure recruits, heck if they don't that's the coaches job! Point blank

Oh and btw, just because it wasn't listed don't believe that there weren't just as many drunk naked chicks in Norman, OK as well dancing and doing the same things as in Austin. Probably more so since he's going to OU!

Well, again, from those 2 cases I mentioned-and only those-I would disagree about how tOSU does business. I have no doubt about booty ho's at USC for Leinart or Barkley or whomever, but I do think the boosters look at whom they are offering $$$ to, and whether it might backfire if they are dealing w/ upright people. As far as recruiting in HS, I have been affiliated w/ two of the most prominent Catholic schools in the Cincy/Dayton area-as a student and as a faculty member/coach, and I know recruiting shenanigans did NOT go on w/ the football programs at these schools.
Also, as far as the socio-economic status of the schools recruits go to-$$$ is not the case at the schools of the commits tOSU has this year-St.John's-Mewhort, and Fragel-Grosse Pointe area-are the only schools where a lot of the student body could be described as very well off. Aurora-Adam the DT and Bellbrook-Longo are well off suburban schools districts, but not rich. I would imagine the socio-economic breakdowns are pretty similar for most BCS schools, especially the top tier ones.

That's putting it nicely. That spin job should get somebody fired from a real job.

I didn't see much of a spin job. What would you consider spin??

If this article were comparing tOSU to UM, PSU, and ND and all they did was trash TOSU, ND, and PSU, and the worst they could say about UM was there was a party with controlled drinking, and those students showed better morals, I think we'd be [censored]ed as a fanbase.

I thought it was a pretty good rebuttal. IMO JaMarkus and his mother made an awful decesion by allowing his recruitment to be followed. Willie Williams already proved its a terrible idea.

She wants what is best for her son, so she makes him a public figure by trashing schools that are recruitng him???

Unintelligent, and now he's the one with a bullseye on his back every time he steps on the field.
