Great thread.

And yes, they are everywhere. Sadly, I've run into more tOSU trolls than any other school around here. I'm having a discussion with my best friend, who is a TSUN fan, and idiot Buckeye fans have to open thier mouths. I hate having to tell them off, but they ask for it.

Living in Georgia was the worst by far however. UGA fans saying "we take our football seriously in the south!", then on Sunday asking me if UGA won. "They did? Awesome. Who did they play? Are they any good?"

:pissed:

One idiot, no matter how hard I tried, kept telling me that GaTech was going to smoke tOSU. It didn't seem to matter to him that they weren't playing each other.

Intresting stat shown during the U of L - K State game: Saturday marks the first time since 1960 (as in Dwight Eisenhower) that UGA has played WEST of the Mississippi! They've only played outside the Confederacy something like 16 times in the history of the football program!!

Something needs to be done about the bowl system. It's time to have at least two of the BCS bowls north of the Mason Dixon line and east of the Big Muddy.

Nonsense.
The system in its current state puts the teams in mild weather vacation destinations where the games can be played in neutral conditions and the fans can enjoy themselves and the event surroundings.

It allows for fair playing conditions, safety of travel (with minimal predicted airport delays), and is situated in towns built for large scale hospitality.

When the Giants/Jets finish their indoor new stadium in Manhattan and when Jerry Jones completes his "monument to my wallet" in Big D, these are the only acceptable substitutes for the current venues.

 Playing LSU for the NC in NEW ORLEANS is NEUTRAL?! Or perhaps this year, playing Florida in Miami is neutral?

The motorcity bowl does fairly decent despite being in DETROIT in the middle of the winter and matching up two teams no one gives a shit about.

Citrus and Outback bowls match B10 vs SEC and they take place in the southeast.

I'm a normally calm, non-excitable guy, but if some asshole fan would call my team "suckeyes" to even "luckeyes", I swear my wife would have to tackle me to keep me from going medieval on their sorry ass! :pissed:

though i agree with you... i really enjoy going to warm weather bowls... (even though it was warmer in the midwest during the 06 fiesta bowl than it was in AZ)... as much as it would be good for the Big 11, who would want to go to the Skyline Chili Bowl at Paul Brown Stadium?

goddamnit, now i want some skyline

If you only knew. :shake:

 I doubt cryami fans would fill up the NC game, at those prices, to jeer the gators.

Where did LSU win their NC before this last one? The Sugar Bowl? Hmm.

Football is a fall sport played in outdoor stadiums, for the most part. Big ten teams are built to play in the elements. Not saying SEC schools couldn't by any means. Just that we'll never know, because they rarely, if ever do.

You have the luxury of not having an in-state rival to snipe at you 24/7-365. Georgia has Tech, Florida - Fsu and Miami, Auburn has bama, S.Carolina, clemson...etc.

While we don't have an "in-state" rival, we have Michigan...our rivalry is the consensus top rivalry not only in college football but in all of American sports.

I think he was saying we don't have to hear as much shit because thankfully, most scUMmers live in TSUN.

Its about 340 miles to miami from UF.

About 180 from Ann Arbor (that whore) to Columbus.

Trust me, South Florida, and Miami, is not "Gator Country."

Had we played tOSUin the Orange in 06 under the same facts, the Buckeyes would have had more fans in the stadium that Gators as well, given the weeks head start on tickets.

The LSU game? You have mostly LSU corporate fans buying tickets early in the Dome. You would not have had huge number of Gator fans buying Orange bowl tix before we edged Michigan. Would not have been a sea of orange and blue in there in 06.
