RB/WR Curtis Samuel (Buffalo Bills)

Curtis Samuel reminds me of Michael Wiley. They are the same size - Samuel is listed at 5' 11", 200 lbs, and Wiley at 5' 11", 203 lbs - and both are known for speed more than power.

Wiley was not the prototypical tailback, but he rushed for 2,951 yards (11th best at Ohio State), with 5.8 ypc and 27 TDs during his Buckeye career, including 1,235 yards in 1998 (19th best at Ohio State). I see no reason why Samuel couldn't have similar success going forward as the lead tailback.

I imagine jalin will emerge as our possession receiver this year, while Wilson and Curtis will be co starters at the H. Curtis will motion into the backfield and play some rb to get him and Wilson on the field at the same time. Dunn and weber will battle for the rb spot but I think of its close weber will get the tie breaker due to youth and higher ceiling. Either could win. Next year the offense won't skip a beat. We get a lot of receivers back and our rb position is solid. Frankly the o line didn't meet expectations this year and I think next year the youngins will come in and and the battle for starters will be great. I expect the o line to be and improvement.

Also pretty similar to Christian McCaffrey, who still doesn't look like a RB to me but obviously rushed for a mile this year.

Runs harder than his size. I think we'll be better than ok with Samuel. Zeke was a once in a generation back. We probably need to adjust our expectations for RB production.

Samuel reminds me in style (at least) of someone like Reggie Bush. Get him the ball and I think special things could happen.

I think the coaching staff will use him properly. He's not a every down bulldozer like EZE was and that's ok...that's what Dunn and Weber are for....

Braxton actually did block this year. I am particularly reminded of him lowering the boom on a comeback block in one game.

SELDOM UTILIZED IN 2015, CURTIS SAMUEL IS POISED FOR BIG THINGS NEXT SEASON

With the departures of Ezekiel Elliott, Braxton Miller, Jalin Marshall and Mike Thomas from Ohio State's offense, Curtis Samuel is finally well-positioned to become an impact player.

The question is where?

Samuel arrived at Ohio State having played running back his entire prep career but at 5'11" and a sturdy if not imposing 200 pounds, there's some question if he can take the pounding and handle the pass blocking assignments on an every down basis for the Buckeyes.

The soon-to-be-junior didn't look physically overmatched during his true freshman season when he carried it 58 times for 383 yards, good for a lofty 6.6 yards per carry but with Elliott's seismic stretch run to close the season, Samuel was moved to the slot for the 2015 slate.

The impact of the position change and the noted gaggle of skill guys needing touches had a slightly adverse effect on Samuel's sophomore production as he tallied 421 yards from scrimmage compared to 478 as a freshman.

The switch to serving primarily as a receiver saw his yards per touch balloon to 10.8 from 6.9 but also saw his touches decrease by 30, from 69 to 39.

Ohio State junior running back Curtis Samuel underwent foot surgery Tuesday morning, sources confirmed with Eleven Warriors. It is estimated Samuel will miss six weeks, but he could be ready for spring practice if needed, sources said.

Seems like this has been said before and hasn't quite happened but it sure seems like Curtis is ready to break out. Watched his KO return in the Fiesta Bowl this morning and realized we haven't even seen his true potential yet.

Foot has been healthy for quite some time now, can't wait to see what the plans are for him after the offensive turnover we had. He should be on the field a lot and needs to see at least 15-20 touches per game. I can see about 12-15 carries and about 5-7 targets per game when he's split out. Too talented of a RB to not get a decent amount of carries. Should be a great change of pace between him and Weber.

I like your outlook, and I'd be happy to see Samuel at RB, but do they have a 3 headed monster with Samuel, Weber and Dunn, or is Dunn the odd man out, or does Samuel become more of a WR, and switches to RB to put Wilson in the slot? A lot of good problems
