In the wake of the scandal with Kentucky basketball in the late 1980s, there were four players who stayed amid some the most severe sanctions ever received by a collegiate basketball program. They suffered through a 14-14 season, two years of postseason bans and then ultimately helped the lead the program back to prominence in the early 90s. These players were Richie Farmer, Sean Woods, John Pelphrey and Deron Feldhaus. The Unforgetables.
That's how I will view guys like Warren Ball, who grew up in central Ohio dreaming of becoming Buckeyes and then saw their dreams come to fruition. When times were tough and everyone was beating on the program like a pinata, they stayed true. And in the end, I hope Buckeye Nation will look at them with the same reverence as those Kentucky players. Thank you Warren Ball.
