His team ran the T wing up until this year. They will be going to the I this year, and Ball is going to explode.

Ball scores five TDs to lead Stallions' romp

Warren Ball scored five touchdowns on Friday, Sept. 16, as the DeSales High School football team defeated host Union (Ky.) Ryle 42-7 to even its record at 2-2.

Ball, who has committed to Ohio State, scored on a 2-yard run to give the Stallions a 7-0 lead after the first quarter.

Ball finished the game with 130 yards on 13 carries. It was his first 100-yard game of the season.

Ball's 16-yard run extended the margin to 14-0, and the Stallions pushed the lead to 21-0 at the half as Alex Perrine hit Charles Chandler from 4 yards.

After Ryle closed the margin to 21-7 in the third quarter on a 34-yard pass from Nathan Davis to Mason LeHmkuhl, Ball closed the scoring with runs from 11, 24 and 34 yards.

Perrine completed eight of 10 passes for 105 yards, and Chandler had three receptions for 59 yards.

The Stallions outgained Kyle only 319-311 in total offense.

Ryle, a Class 6A team that went 12-2 last season, dropped to 2-2.

The DeSales High School football team turned to senior running back Warren Ball to cruise to a 27-10 victory at St. Charles on Friday, Sept. 30, in the CCL-Silver Division opener for both teams.

It was the 35th consecutive victory in the series for the Stallions, who improved to 3-3 overall.

Ball rushed for 171 yards and two touchdowns on 27 carries, with 132 yards coming during the second half.

"At halftime the coaches said they wanted to pound it at them," Ball said. "Our offensive line did a tremendous job. We didn't want to be the senior class that loses to them. It feels good because they're a good football team."

DeSales 25, Watterson 14

Senior running back Warren Ball scored a pair of first-half touchdowns and finished with 195 yards and the two scores on 44 carries as the Stallions improved to 4-3 overall.

While DeSales finished 2-0 in the league, Watterson fell to 3-5 overall and 0-1 in the CCL-Silver.

"We really played some smash-mouth football and the offensive line did a tremendous job tonight," Ball said.
