RB Roderick Smith (Official Thread)

If he's going to act like this and not make the bowl trip they don't need him anyways.

Has anyone verified he 'missed the charter'?

Pretty sure there is more to this story...also hearing the team charter is for the return trip. Out of town guys were allowed to get there on their own.

Nothing really concrete out there.

I think you can put two and two together. Where there's smoke there's a fire usually.

You would think if he had any intention of traveling and dressing with his teammates he would have informed an administrative person or a member of the coaching staff of an issue that came up.

Things like this are better thought of as algebra rather than arithmetic. We don't have all of the information yet. This is more like y = 2(x) + 2. If x=1 its easy to think of it as being the same thing as 2 + 2. What if it's not though?

We don't have to make assumptions about x to try to figure out y. The answer will come out eventually.

Put more explicitly: This thread nor these boards are the place for speculating on his standing with the team or the reasons for his current absence. You may be right, you may be wrong, but things like this tend to take on a life of their own before very long when people start making assumptions.

What do you think?

While Rod Smith is in the doghouse, I think that he has big things in store for him in the future. I mentioned a long time ago that Smith's future was at WR (bloggers said I was crazy). I thought since he was a high school basketball star that he would be able to have the athleticism to compete for jump balls as well as his skills as a runner, I thought A. Bolden. However, I was off, he would be the perfect tight end, a more athletic A. Hernandez (actually 6'1, 245).
If his measurables hold up, 6'3 and 230 Ibs, with his skills as a runner, he?d be very dangerous.

You're crazy, among other things.

Are you one of those cheesers on NCAA who puts a 99SPD CB at QB?

While we're at it, let's put TY Williams at CB. No WR in CFB would be able to outjump him.

Not at all. He's big, fast, and strong. UFM uses his H-Backs in variety of ways. Why not put all this "big" speed on the field? We have two talented backs in Hyde and Hall as well as Dunn and Ball coming in. We just signed a bunch of LBs. Why not try him at H-Back?
