RB Maurice Wells (Official Thread)

Thats actually a pretty good idea. Looking at his size and speed capabilities, he some-what remindes me of a Bam Childress.

That's a compliment?

Seriously though, I hope he can catch a ball a bit better than "Barn" as old Keith Jackson would call him. I'm sure he's going to be more than capabale, and this is football so you can't ever have too many good RB. All it takes is one injury...

Remember Iowa 2 years ago (most of us would rather not)- they were down to their 5th back by the time we played them. Mo Wells will be fine, and at some point, he will have his opportunity to shine. He seemed very happy as a Buckeye at the end of the scUM game - I remember seeing his locks flying around when guys were celebrating.

seems like he is getting bigger... hope that he can step in and play to his potential this year and help add more depth to the RB this year... 4 headed monster!!!
A. Pittman, C. Wells, M. Wells, E. Haw...

Maybe they edited it, but I don't see too much hatin'. Mo has areas were he must improve, IMHO, so he is exposed to the same criticism as anyone else. Message boards tend to get carried away, so I don't put much stock in it.

Personally, I think everyone looks at his size and doesn't give him his due respect. I think he is improving, he is only a sophmore and by all reports is a hard worker. If they get him in the right situations this year, he could be very successful. I am hoping he gives us that back that can stretch the field and be a threat catching the ball out of the backfield.

rb coach Tressel did say as of the spring practice and game , M. Wells did the best doing everything that they want a rb to do. Main thing probably was blocking and knowing the plays to me. my guess

Treesel knows what to say to keep them all happy .
Chris wells has said nothing but, positive stuff about pittman, wells and haw. He said if he didn't come in early he probably would have redshirted. lol he was being polite I guess to all

Mo Wells is definitely the best of the four at pass blocking and picking up the blitzers.
he is also definitely the 4th best at toting the rock, IMHO. he's great once he gets past the LOS, but can't remember him breaking any takcles (he is good at making people miss in the open field)
If we're in the spread, I'd love to see him in there. If we're nursing a 7 point lead in the 4th Qtr, I'd rather see the other Wells.

i use to float back to jjhuddle when nothing was going on here.. i can't anymore.. its horrible

I hear that. If it's not a pointless flamefest for/against tOSU being the most wonderful thing in the world its a thread about how Joe Blow from Findlay University or something like that is the greatest quarterback of all time, but he doesn't get the respect

If for some reason Pittman was out for an early game Mo Wells would be the starter IMO, but I think a game or two into the season it'll likely be Beanie, depending of course on how he picks up blocking, the offense, etc...the edge has to go to the guy who has been here longer and has worked his butt off
