RB Maurice Wells (Official Thread)

Lets hope so. I don't know many LB's who can match his speed. Don't know that I'd run him 'tween the tackles 25 times a game, but outside? Money.
Agreed. I don't know how long he could hold up in the Big Ten running between the tackles 25 times a game. But, Imagine next year with him and Beanie...makes me think of White and Bush.

I read yesterday that The Big Schnitt has been moved to tailback and White would be starting at FB with DJ getting reps.

The more I think about it, the more I like that idea. Get everyone some reps and see who shines the brightest. We are going to be relying on the running game to grind it out and move the chains, not come up with the home run-type plays.

With Schnitt's move to TB and White and Dionte handling the FB role, we suddenly have a decent amount of depth in the backfield.

I totally disagree. We will be looking for big plays, with the WR arsenal we have. We'll use the running game to compliment the passing game, and set up the big passing plays.

I'm ok with it, but I don't think we've ever really seen anything from Schnitt. I'm willing to give him the benfit of the doubt and say that that's just been because of position and opportunity. Maybe so, maybe not. I hope he has a big year.

I thought Brandon looked good in the Alamo Bowl (with limited touches) and he looked good in the Spring Game.

I agree with Mili. I think that this is going to be a "swing for the fences" type of offense with the emphasis on big plays. With the way that the defense is going to have to respect the talent at WR, there are going to be gaping holes in the defense that (hopefully) will be exploited using the running game.

Make no mistake about it, Coach Tressel wants to run the football.

Per the Ozone...

"It was an experience," said Wells.

"105,000, I've never played in a stadium so big. It was an experience. Just think, last year I was in high school playing in high playing high school football about this time.

"It is different. When we first ran out on the field I had a little smile on my face, because it was finally here. I had been to a couple of games when I came up for my visits. I watched everybody else but I've never been a part of it myself. Now to be a part of it and hear the fans call my name, it feels good."

Mo Wells

I liked what I saw from Wells Saturday. He has a real presence on the field. Looking forward to seeing him develop.

Also, I know it was garbage time, but it was good to see Haw running hard out there.
