RB Maurice Wells (Official Thread)

Thats excellent news. I can wait to see him get his first carries in the Shoe. I would love to see him have a standout year and maybe take over as the starter. Our offense would be too quick to stop. I like Pitman a lot, I just think Mo could be a real stud, especially on passes., and swings.

there's an article in Bucknuts magazine, from June i believe, in which Wells stated that the coaches had sent him the playbook as soon as he graduated... plus, he moved to Columbus at the end of June, and has been working out with the team in the 'voluntary' practices, so it's not really like he picked it all up this week... he had a little head start...

at the same time, there is no denying his obvious talent...

gosh I can't wait for another week to go by so we can hear how they did and things like that! I'm really pumped bout Maurice and I honestly think he'll break out against Miami with some late carries after Pittman/Haw get theirs.

Dick Tressel, RB Coach, on Maurice:
"Very mature young man... accepted by team... will learn quickly"
"Great lower body strength... he can break a tackle (not just shake and bake"
"Will have to learn physical nature of this game... but he's prepared to handle it"
"But he's fast.. he looks fast. When he runs, he looks like he's going fast (vs. Ginn)."
