Rivals has an update on shoenhoft. in it he says that mo wells called him wednesday night to talk about various thngs.

if that is not a telling sign about what wells is thinking at the moment, then i dont know what is.

not that it is too surprising, but its always enjoyable to be more sure a player like wells is headed here.

Yeah, how in the hell do you see a 5'9" back behind a group of guys 6'6" to 6'8"? Of course, the QB needs to be able to see around these guys too.
Troy isn't 5'9" tho (I know you didn't mean him). He's 6'1", and the only reason that the same field of vision would be blocked the whole time would be if our lineman were holding their rushers in place. Sounds like a problem I can live with :)

When talking about our OL, I think keeping their rushers in place would be a better way to phrase it.

He just got back from GTech and is ready to make his decision. He said it went well at Gtech but he still really likes tOSU. He will make his decision soon but says he won't announce publically until the AA game. He appears to be leaning toward the Buckeyes. He says tOSU is at the top of the list right now.

He understands the opportunity for early playing time at tOSU. He really liked Nate Salley, Donte Whitner, Coach Hazell (who is recruiting him), both Coach T's. He will sit down with his family and make the final decision.

But it sounds like it is already made. :oh: :io:

would certainly explain the gwaltney verballing to usc.....

tosu gets its #1 rb....leaving gwaltney to choose his option #2

While I hope one wouldn't have to do with the other, I am really excited about Maurice Wells. And besides Ringer isn't exactly chopped liver as an alternative to Gwaltney. Either way all along I felt Maurice was the one guy our coaches had to get, especially with us being in on him for quite some time and the way he was offered with coach Conley. I remember first hearing that story and was blown away

I have it on good authority that Wells has already told Tressel that he is pretty much 100% sure he's gonna be a Buckeye and to hold a schollie for him. He just wants to make his decision in a public forum with a bunch of his friends that he's made during the recruiting process.

Ringer is every bit as good as any RB in the country but he still hasn't convinced Tressel to take him on. I believe they are still waiting on test scores.

Total hearsay at this time...

maybe, but where theres smoke, theres fire....plus, even gwaltney himself said that, while he didn't commit, usc is now the school most likely to change his mind. basically, tOSU is out of the picture for all intents and purposes.

it's a shame; gwaltney is a big ten running back, and we need him a helluva lot more than usc, but whatever...hope he has fun bringing water to reggie bush and lendale white for the next two years.

I swear I've heard this phrase a couple hundred times in the past few months. It's not exactly unheard of for rumors to have no basis whatsoever...whoever invented this smoke=fire thing has a really messed up way of thinking.

SOMETIMES "smoke = fire"...with rumors, more often than not "smoke = someone is high". I agree that the whole Wells situation appears good on the surface, but let's not call him a lock until NLID.

I sure hope we have this kid locked up, because I really see him as the type of kid who will be lining up as reciever, and doing all the things that Bush does. I don't know why, but I just have this feeling that Mo. Wells will be something else.
