RB Lydell Ross (official thread)

Why not let him start? (besides the fact that he can't hit the hole and he has a bad case of fumbleitus)
For one thing, it's Michigan State. Their defense isn't much better than Indiana's.
And Tressel always has Hall and Pittman to fall back on.
are you serious?

What a bunch of losers. What exactly has Lydell done to any of you? If you have a problem with his talents on the field then blame the coaches that put him there, Lydell's just doing the best he can. A concept that is obviously lost on a bunch of whining couch-potatos. Try to imagine what a recruit that is considering O.S.U. would think when he read this thread.

How about:

  • Fall down at every ankle tackle.
  • Fumble the ball when bumped.
  • Come to a near complete stop at the line while trying to decide which way to go.

Look no one is saying that he's not trying his best...hell, I'd try my best if I were out there, but that doesn't mean I should be the frickin' starting tailback. He's had four years to develop into a solid, dependable running back, and he hasn't. He's had a few good games against Indiana and some big runs, but he offsets those games with others where he gets about 50-60 yards on 20+ carries. The only running back that has shown me any semblance of consistency is Pittman.

Susan,
I , personally would just like to see T.Pittman get more carries. Lydell has always seemed to be a good guy, but just never has progressed since his Freshman season . I think we just want to see everyone with a chance to get some carries to see who is the most productive.

You can't blame fumbles on coaches.

Unfortunately for you this site is not run by SuckNutts, so if you don't like what you see you should just click the X button on the top right of the internet window and you wont have to see it anymore. Enjoy your ding ass bag.

Yes I suppose blaming the coaches for his ineptitude would make us much better fans. Your hypocrisy almost outweighs your idiocy.

A recruit who watches any of the games is probably thinking "Wow if that guy can start there for two years, I can walk into that starting spot immediately."

maybe that's why JT is starting Lydell 'for a' Loss...so potential recruits can see how horrible our running backs are. Better to keep Pittman a secret, right?

Actually Crazy, I am not at all confused about hypocrisy. My role as a moderator does not stop my right to post an opinion or to argue a point.

Your hypocrisy lies in faulting those who call out a player's lack of performance while you feel comfortable blaming the coaches. After all, your initial argument revolved around effort. Would you argue that the coaching staff is not putting forth its best effort?

It isnt any more fun for me to watch Lydell go down on first contact than it is for you. But I'll be damned if I'm going to slam a kid that suits up in the scarlet and grey everyday and puts it out there, injuries and all. If you wear the scarlet and grey you have my support, period. Its not predicated on your ypc average.
Btw, there was nothing "hypocritical" in my original post, I think you were looking for a different word. Heck, just call me Susan like everybody else.
