RB Lydell Ross (official thread)

Btw, there was nothing "hypocritical" in my original post, I think you were looking for a different word.
Well I guess we have a different interpretation of the word then. You slam those who question Lydell's effort yet think it is ok to slam the coaches who also put forth that effort through countless hours year round. Are they not Buckeyes also? That is where I find the hypocrisy to lie.

Either way you see it, you are entitled to your opinion as I am mine. We will have to agree to disagree.

I hope that Ross comes out really wanting to prove to everyone that he should be a captain and a starter. Maybe all of this lights a fire under him. Our offense was really sucessful against MSU last year. Maybe this year will be more of the same. Althought I don't care how Ross or Smith or any of the offense plays if they still lose. I'd rather win 2-0 than lose 55-48 like the Louisville Mephis game last night. It's not about offense, it's about winning. I hope the whole team has that mindset to just WIN tomorrow!

It isnt any more fun for me to watch Lydell go down on first contact than it is for you. But I'll be damned if I'm going to slam a kid that suits up in the scarlet and grey everyday and puts it out there, injuries and all. If you wear the scarlet and grey you have my support, period. Its not predicated on your ypc average.
Btw, there was nothing "hypocritical" in my original post, I think you were looking for a different word. Heck, just call me Susan like everybody else.
Dude... that is insane. Just because he attends Ohio State doesn't make him immune to normal expectations. The fact that Pittman came in and made our team look better instantly really hurts any case he has had to be starting again. Pure and simple. Sure, some guys go overboard stating the obvious in a rude or wrong manner. But it doesn't change the real message. Ross is not a starting caliber TB in the BigTen.

osugrad21, I didn't blame the coaches, I suggested that if you all had a problem with who got pt and who didn't then that's who you should blame. The coaches decide who plays and who doesn't, I can't believe I need to point that out. I don't have any problem with you posting your opinion at all, not sure where that came from.

It is an easy deduction from your post though bro...whether that was intended is neither her nor there. Text conversation can lead to these types of misunderstandings and arguments. No big deal on this end.

He's a Senior. This is going to be his last year playing organized football. Let him play a little bit.
what is this, junior high? hes not good enough to play. theres a reason im not starting TB at ohio state. its the same reason he shouldnt be playing.

He may not be good enough to play against Michigan or Penn State or Wisconsin, but it's Michigan State. I haven't seen alot out of their defense this year other than their win over Minny.
I would give him 5-10 carries.

Susan.. I mean, Crazy, realize there is a difference between constructive critism and simply blasting a dude. I was one who thought Lydel was due for a huge year. It didn't happen. End of story. Did he deserve a shot, you bet? He got it. You don't stay on a sinking ship, and if Lydell isn't getting the job done you look for someone who can. It's that simple. Do I support Lydell? Yes. Do I want him to do well? Yes. But, if he hasn't done it, I'm not gonna keep going to that well. About 350 yards this year. Unacceptable.

You mean the crappy MSU defense that held Michigan to 10 points for 53 minutes, at Michigan no less? The reason why MSU lost that game was they kept one of their Lollipop Kids at corner against Braylon Edwards which subsequently allowed "Lobfest 2004" to occur.

Yeah. The same defense that gave up 246 rushing yards against Michigan. 224 of those to Hart.
