This video shows Berry on sideline getting attention just after the play that knocked him out of the game with an ankle injury vs. South Dade last week (Palmetto won 16-14). Again, from what I have heard this is not something serious, but enough that they want to be cautious. Keep in mind that Thursday night's game vs. Varela was non-district and next week's games vs. Homestead and Coral Reef, although not enitrely pushovers, are district games that Palmetto can and should win (even without Berry) and winning these two would get them in the state playoffs. The crutches are only meant for him to be able to walk on the aircast, but from what I heard he could walk around without the crutches, it's just that he'd be a bit sore. Kind of like anyone of us getting whacked in the ankle really, really hard, you wouldn't want to be playing any kind of sport on it.
Berry and the rest of Palmetto have a much better offensive line this year than last (so that should say something about his fine performance last year).
Lamar Miller, who plays at arch-rival Killian (who Palmetto will play in a few weeks), is doing well on one of the top high school teams in the state, but he has a very impressive front 5 (perhaps the best with the exception of Columbus where Jakari Gore (related to Frank Gore of 49ers) plays.
