RB Jaamal Berry (Transfer to Murray State)

To me, this in an incredible pick-up on so many levels...that, comparably speaking, went completely under the radar. As I write this, neither $cout nor Rival$ either one has mentioned this commitment on their main national page in any capacity, not even in the commitment wire portion of the Rivals Minute, just on the Ohio State page, only!! Is that not incredible for a guy of his talent level?

Personally, I think this guy is as good as any prospect in the US, and proving it in some of the best competition in the country....sans Cincinnati, of course. I just want to say again how THRILLED I am to have this game breaking talent as a Buckeye, (he is Buckeye through and through, apparently).....and that he announces it w/absolutely no media fan fare and/or attention whatsoever, (not that I criticize any of the kids who do), at a time when some of us were ready to check into the emergency room ourselves....and from what I hear, on his own dime.

You are my new hero, Jaamal!! Again, welcome aboard, buddy!!

Rivals.com Football Recruiting - Gators trying to turn some top talent

When Florida plays host to Miami on Saturday, look for a few big-time committed players to be on hand for unofficial visits.

Miami Palmetto running back Jaamal Berry might have committed to Ohio State a few days ago, but sources say that his pledge to the Buckeyes is anything but solid. Berry, the No. 6 running back in the country, will be taking an unofficial visit to Gainesville this weekend, and word has it that his final decision likely won't be made for a while.

Should there be any concern that Jaamal is in Gainsville this weekend to watch the Florida vs Miami game? Rivals has been reporting this all day.

No concern here. Don't think that Urban has either the time or the clue to spend the effort it would take at this point. Remember... mom has met with JT.

You can never say never, but.......

Heck, I'd go to the game. Wouldn't you?

... and heck yes I'd go to the game myself. I'd be watching tOSU on my mobile phone over slingbox... but I'd be at the game.

I figured Urban would've learned by now not to let Buckeyes on campus. They're only there to recruit.

... and wasn't it at UF that Brewster made friends with Sweat? During the Blue and Orange game? Urban may want to be careful who he lets JB sit with during the game... Who's still on our board?

No issue here. He wants to be the best RB in D1... come play behind the best O-line in D1. Smart kid... give him credit.

:oh:

That's what I was sayin'. Eventually, Urby had to ask him not to come back.

The big thing about Florida is that there will be five tailbacks returning, with Ohio State having at least two (at most three).

Depth alone, the Buckeyes would seem more favorable to me (but I don't live in the state of Florida).

Not concerned. Just gator fans spreading rumors. Berry is all Buckeye. He saw Pryor and said I want to be on the field with him!

Wants to be on the field with Prior?

Sure, no doubt. But how about those other guys like . . . like . . . like . . . Brewster, Shugarts, Adams, Hyde, Posey, Ballard, etc. As a running back, where would you prefer to be?

Berry Good News In Columbus
By Billy Tucker

There may be some uncertainty surrounding the running back position in Columbus, Ohio, this week, but the Buckeyes certainly received some great news regarding the future of the position with a commitment from Jaamal Berry (Palmetto, Fla.), ESPN's No 1-rated back, on Sunday.

"I was looking for a school with great players, coaches, academics and a winning football program; Ohio State had all of them," said Berry, who chose OSU over Ole Miss and Florida.

The Florida native said the "family atmosphere" he felt in Columbus may have been the deciding factor. It's common for newly committed prospects to point out the strong relationships they built with their future coaches and players. It seemed to go deeper with Berry.

"Ohio State was different than most schools who recruited me," explained Berry. "The coaches felt more down-to-earth and straightforward. They didn't say I would play right away or promise anything, which I actually liked. They basically said I would be on the field when I'm ready."

In regards to his future well-being as a person, whether with the Buckeyes or not, Berry said the staff was just as earnest.

"Their coaches don't force or pressure you," Berry said. "They said if it's not OSU then we still wish you the best wherever you go."
